The show is on CNBC, guys.

Episode 2:
I love how the fat boiler room caller they featured this week claims on the show his family is #1 to him. That explains why he lives in Vegas working in a boiler room and blowing his salary on bets while his wife and teenage son live in NJ. WTF?

He says his old man ran out on the family so he knows how important it is to be a father to his son...yet he lives across the country from him and blows his salary on betting.

Yes, father of the year award for sure.

In episode #1 last week, Steve Stevens said he takes 50% commission. Yet in episode #2, he claimed a profit off the barber client that is not mathematically possible if he's taking 50% commission.

The whole show is a farce.

He charged the barber $8900, or 44.5% of the $20k, but the barber walked away with $19k, so basically 50%. Ridiculous. the guy could've wagered $10k like he did the first time and been better off, and won more. Instead, he paid G6 Douche Prices to hang out with Steve in Vegas. He actually lost money like most do with shit stain Touts, but I guess he values hanging out with Steve enough not to care. smh. Loser!@#0

I've heard others say this as well, but I've seen it first hand, and know that you're wrong. think about it...

100 heads a week x $15-20 a head = $1500-2000 a week CASH. That's $78-$100k annually. he owns the shop, so he pays no booth rental, and prob even makes a few stacks off of it. Let's not forget sales of other things in the shop etc. Bottom line, the barbers I know here all make $50k CASH annually if they try. Not great money, but nothing to ever complain about (for most anyways).

Fair point. I have no idea how much a haircut costs nowadays...I've been shaving my own dome for a while now. I would imagine the IRS looks at cash businesses a lot more closely...but don't people pay for haircuts with bank cards too? And how the hell did the guy manage to carry 50k in cash on an airplane...? I've read stories of Homeland Security confiscating a lot less than that from other passengers since it raises some red flags.

Oh, btw...at a 50% commission, picking 70% winners isn't enough to turn a huge profit. for ex, for a $100 bettor:

70 wins = +$7k - $3,500 commission = +$3,500
30 losses - -$3,300.

Hitting an impossible 70% over the long run only to end up netting two units of profit? Yay.

Anyway, this thread has been awesome. I'm certain Steve Stevens is a registered RX user since he probably needs to find picks from anywhere he can. I really hope he's reading this thread and sees everyone ripping on him. Way to go for broadcasting nothing more than a weekly infomercial for a scam artist, CNBC...

How many barbershops is the "high roller" supposed to own? Even at $2,000 a week gross, you have to subtract labor, power & space, money for quarterly taxes, supplies, etc. off that. Maybe if he owned 20 barbershops, but not if it is about 3. I'm sure you can make a six figure income owning a chain of barbershops, but I'm skeptical you can risk $66,000 on football making $120,000 grand...

Brilliant observation Justo! And... what a bunch of hounds on here. People talk like they want to believe there is one shred of realism to this horseshit.

The only thing resembling truth is that there are touts who would try to screw wieners on a 50% scam like this (Adam Meyer, South Florida).

Here is what gets me..... Even if we realize that the show is a total hoax (which obviously it is) why wouldn't they try to make it just a little bit more realistic? Steve explained both episodes what money management is supposed to mean. Then he turns right around and violates it for the simple reason to pad his own pockets. (That is if he wins. In the more likely case he loses.... then the guys can ride the bus home) After Steve gives the guy the plays, his demeanor as he roots for the plays is like "welfare Aunt Hilda" who makes pancakes for the family on Sunday morning. He is a nervous wreck and whines like hell. Not in any way is he trying to act like a man who understands sports wagering at all. They should card the prick in the sportsbook, based only on his childish behavior.

Piss poor way to portray real wagering. (Why don't they throw a couple bucks on keno?)

hahahah

It is so funny how he watches the game and panics the entire time. No pro would ever do that. He also contradicts himself more than anyone else in history. AMAZING TV!!

By the way... As the resident hairstylist here at the rx... that barber could conceivably be pulling in $$ with 3 or 4... no way 1 or 2... I know the industry up and down... and worked in the busiest and best barbershops and salons...
There is a lot of dough out there to be had.. but u better keep your nose clean with the irs.. they don't fuk around

I'd say he easily makes that money. Barbershops are fronts for black markets and things on the low-low too. Dude makes a couple hundred bucks a week in each shop from bootleg CDs and DVDs alone. then you have drinks and snacks etc. I laugh when folks make fun of barbers. Straight cash homey...

1) He only wagered $44k

2) All the charges you say are paid for by the other barbers. $100 a week booth rental from 6-10 folk per shop works out great.

3) Owning a chain of barbershops isn't the way to make money. Fantastic Sams fad was missed out on if that was your thing.

barbers also start making money at a young age and even during school. With it all being cash, if you stack it right, you can easily afford to be the HNIC of the block...

In the 1st episode the guy lost $33,000 on his 1st two games then took Seattle -6.5 for $66,000 and won.

I didn't see the 2nd one though.
