4-Unit CBB: (865) Duke +3 -110 over Virginia Tech (1/23/2023 @ 7:00PM EST) This line opened close to a pickem' at some soft locations, but has now been bet up to the current market price. While I don't disagree with the early money being able to grab Virginia Tech as a pickem', we project solid value on the other side at +3. We have Duke ranked higher with both their adjusted offensive and defensive efficiency rating, while also playing the tougher strength of schedule. Both teams have struggled against the spread, but we believe that the Blue Devils are being drastrically undervalued based on the fact that they are just 1-3 so far on the road. This should come down to the wire in what we expect to be a coin-flip game, in which case we would be thrilled to be holding this ticket.


5-Unit CBB: (869) North Dakota/Western Illinois o139.5 -110 (1/23/2023 @ 7:00PM EST) This is one of those situations where the market is adjusting to the fact that we have two slower paced teams, that lack offensive production. Having said that, they also are pretty poor on the defensive side of the ball. North Dakota rank 294th in adjusted defensive rating, while Western Illinois rank 268th. I've mentioned this in the past, and it's shown to be true time and time again; one of the best things for an over is where we have two poor teams that lack offensive production, but are equally as bad on the defensive end. For some reason, this seems to yield points. We aren't going to speculate why, but the numbers are the numbers. We made this line closer to 144 which gives us plenty of value. We should also note that a market making sportsbook is hanging 140.5 which is telling.


6-Unit CBB: (306645) Texas Southern/Alabama State o139.5 (1/23/2023 @ 8:30PM EST) These teams are a combined 22-14 to the under which is the reason for the over-adjustment that is creating value in backing the over. As mentioned above, this game fits the bill when it comes to poor offensive teams, that are even worse on the defensive end. Neither team has been able to stop a nosebleed, especially Texas Southern who have gone over in three of their last four games, while allowing 72.75 points per game during that span. We should also note that the Tigers are 4-0 in their L/4 games vs. a team with a losing record. We show a ton of value on the over based on our model, and will stake accordingly.


5-Unit CBB: (306647) Southern -9.5 -110 over Mississippi Valley State (1/23/2023 @ 8:30PM EST) Southern have covered in five of their last six games by an average margin of +6.9 points. The Jaguars rank 10th regarding adjusted tempo, which we believe will prove to be far too much for the Delta Devils that rank 259th in adjusted tempo. We don't see how Mississippi Valley State are going to put up enough points here to keep in striking distance. That rank as the 5th worst team in the nation regarding adjusted offensive rating, and Southern have been locking down as of late. We believe the Jaguars win this game by double-digits far more often than not.
