Chicago White Sox vs. Boston Red Sox
The Chicago White Sox hope Jake Peavy continues his solid execution since returning from the DL when they invade Fenway Park to battle Jon Lester and the Boston Red Sox in Game 1 of the AL rivals scheduled three-game set; tune to the MLB Network at 7:10 ET for first pitch.
After building up some momentum winning seven of their previous 10 including the series opener in Toronto with the Blue Jays (+$409), manager Ozzie Guillen’s squad went on to partake in what turned out to be a disastrous next three games getting outscored 26-14 to drop back-to-back series played. They enter this Memorial Day spot with a very disappointing 24-31 overall record that’s cost MLB bettors upwards of $860 to date; Paul Konerko and his mates have managed to win just 14 of their 32 overall road games played (-$161). Chicago’s 7-3 its L/10 vs. +.500 opposition but a bankroll killing 3-8 its L/11 against lefties.
It’s almost as if Red Sox’ opposition should just throw in the white flag before ever taking the field as hot as the now AL East leaders have been playing of late. After taking Game 1 of their day/night doubleheader with the Detroit Tigers on Sunday, Boston has rattled off five wins in a row and has only dropped four games since May 7th. In doing so, manager Terry Francona’s squad has built a two-game lead in the division and is now just over two units away from getting back into the black for its betting backers (-$216). The Red Sox have won eight of their L/9 in Beantown and beat each of the L/4 righties faced.
Chicago flat out dominated the BoSox in their down season a year ago winning six of the seven overall confrontations; the ‘under’ cashed in four of those games and has come in for total players seven of the L/10 overall meetings. The White Sox have won each of the L/7 times Jake Peavy toed the bump for them to open a series, but the Red Sox are an impressive 43-13 in Jon Lester’s L/56 home starts.
PICK: Chicago/Boston UNDER
