NFL game roundup: Seahawks shut down Eagles
By THE SPORTS XCHANGE
PHILADELPHIA -- The Seattle Seahawks scored touchdowns on their first two possessions of the second half and went on to beat the Philadelphia Eagles 24-14 on Sunday in a battle of two of the NFC's top teams.
Russell Wilson threw two touchdown passes and ran for another score to help the Seahawks win their third straight game. Wilson had 263 yards passing and ran for 48 yards.
The Eagles were held to 139 total yards, the fewest under coach Chip Kelly.
Seattle (9-4) kept pace with first-place Arizona (10-3) in NFC West after the Cardinals beat Kansas City 17-14 on Sunday. Seattle beat the Cardinals 19-3 earlier in the season and the two teams meet again on Dec. 21 at Arizona.
The Eagles (9-4) fell into a first-place tie with Dallas in NFC East, although the Eagles hold a tiebreaker because they beat the Cowboys 33-10 on Thanksgiving Day. The two teams play again next Sunday night in Philadelphia.
Cardinals 17, Chiefs 14
GLENDALE, Ariz. -- A critical moment went the way of Arizona, helping end a two-game losing streak with a victory over Kansas City.
A week after taking flak for not throwing a challenge flag in a tough loss at Atlanta, Cardinals coach Bruce Arians tossed his red hanky this time. Gambling with his last timeout in a close game, he won the challenge and a red-zone receiving first down by the Chiefs was reversed into a fumble recovery by the Cardinals.
The play prevented the Chiefs from taking the lead or kicking a game-tying field goal.
The win gives the Cardinals (10-3) back-to-back, double-digit win seasons for the first time since 1975-76 and kept them perfect at home this season at 7-0, the most in franchise history over a 16-game schedule.
Drew Stanton finished the game 15 of 30 for 239 yards and one touchdown with no interceptions for the Cardinals.
The Chiefs (7-6), who have lost three in a row, were shut out in the second half.
Patriots 23, Chargers 13
SAN DIEGO -- New England rebounded from a 14-3 deficit, scoring the game's final 20 points in a win over San Diego.
The Patriots, who lost at Green Bay a week ago, bounced back from a regular-season loss with a victory for the 10th consecutive time. New England (10-3) snapped the Chargers' three-game winning streak.
The Chargers (8-5) were shut out in the second half, and they fell two games behind the first-place Denver Broncos in the AFC West with three games remaining.
Patriots quarterback Tom Brady finished 28 of 44 for 317 yards with two touchdown passes and an interception. New England wide receiver Julian Edelman produced 141 yards and a touchdown on eight receptions.
Raiders 24, 49ers 13
OAKLAND, Calif. -- Derek Carr passed for 254 yards and three touchdowns and tight end Mychal Rivera caught seven passes for a career-high 109 yards with one score as Oakland stunned San Francisco.
The Raiders were coming off a 52-0 loss to the St. Louis Rams, but they won for the second time in three games. Oakland (2-11) delivered a painful blow to its Bay Area rivals' playoff hopes.
The 49ers (7-6) lost their second game in a row as they fell 19-3 to the Seahawks on Thanksgiving. San Francisco dropped three games behind the first-place Cardinals in the NFC West.
Carr completed 22 of 28 passes and posted a passer rating of 140.2. He did not throw an interception. Oakland fullback Marcel Reece caught seven passes for 64 yards and a touchdown.

Colts 25, Browns 24
CLEVELAND -- Indianapolis mounted a 90-yard scoring drive in the final minutes of the game and scored the winning touchdown on a 1-yard pass from Andrew Luck to T.Y. Hilton with 32 seconds left to edge Cleveland.
The game-winning drive took 11 plays. The Colts (9-4) never led until they scored the go-ahead touchdown.
The Browns (7-6) have lost three of their past four games.
Brian Hoyer played the entire game at quarterback for the Browns, completing 14 of 31 passes for 140 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions.
The Colts trailed 21-7 in the third quarter before coming back behind Luck, who finished 24 of 53 for 294 yards with two interceptions.
Broncos 24, Bills 17
DENVER -- Buffalo held quarterback Peyton Manning without a touchdown pass but couldn't keep running back C.J. Anderson out of the end zone as Denver held on for a win.
Manning's streak of games with at least one touchdown pass was snapped at 51, three shy of Drew Brees' NFL record. Manning was 14 of 20 for 173 yards passing and was intercepted twice.
Denver's defense was just as rough, if not rougher, on Buffalo quarterback Kyle Orton, a former Bronco. Orton one-upped Manning with a touchdown pass while completing 38 of 57 passes for 355 yards, but he also was intercepted twice and was sacked four times.
Anderson, coming off successive 100-yard games, ran 21 times for 58 yards, including touchdown runs of 1, 3 and 6 yards for AFC West-leading Denver (10-3), which won for the fourth time in five games.
Buffalo (7-6) took a hit to its playoff hopes with its first loss in three games. The Bills were denied in their bid to reach eight wins in a season for the first time since 2004.

Quarterback Andy Dalton passed for 302 yards and two chdowns and ran for another score for the Bengals, who still lead the AFC North despite having their three-game winning streak snapped.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- In a game between two teams battling to try to remain in the playoff race, Baltimore rallied to defeat Miami.

Miami (7-6) is just 3-3 at home this season, including two straight losses.
Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco completed 25 of 33 passes for 269 yards and two touchdowns. He also scored on a 1-yard run, and the Ravens' defense got six sacks in the win.
Elvis Dumervil had 3 1/2 of Baltimore six sacks against Ryan Tannehill, who threw for 227 yards and a score. The Dolphins totaled only 249 yards.
Panthers 41, Saints 10
NEW ORLEANS -- Quarterback Cam Newton threw for three touchdowns and leaped high for another, and Jonathan Stewart rushed for 155 yards, including a 69-yard scoring scamper, as Carolina ended a seven-game winless streak by routing New Orleans Saints.
The victory for Carolina (4-8-1) was its first since Oct. 5, and the Saints (5-8) lost their fourth consecutive home game. In their previous seven games, the Panthers recorded a tie and six consecutive losses.
The 31-point loss was tied for the most lopsided for the Saints in eight seasons under head coach Sean Payton. The Saints had not lost four consecutive games at home since 1999. As poorly as the Saints have played, however, they still could be tied for first place in the NFC South if Atlanta (5-7) loses Monday night at Green Bay.
Lions 34, Buccaneers 17
DETROIT -- Quarterback Matthew Stafford passed for 311 yards and three touchdowns while running back Joique Bell had a rushing and receiving touchdown to lead Detroit over Tampa Bay.

Facing third-and-5 on their own 13, Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater fired a quick screen to his right to Wright, who broke a tackle and outran the Jets down the sideline for his first touchdown of the season.
The score salvaged a win for Minnesota (6-7), which led most of the game.

New York (4-9) had not won since its 30-20 victory over Atlanta on Oct. 5.
Tennessee (2-11) dropped its seventh straight, not even picking up a first down until the second quarter's first play. Quarterback Zach Mettenberger left the game with 10:30 remaining after being sacked for the fifth time and reinjuring the right shoulder.
