Delaware vs. Hofstra
Hofstra-15½
I'm recommending a play on Hofstra minus the points on Monday night. This marks the second time this season we have backed the Pride. Hoftsra is playing well and will face a Delaware team that's in major rebuilding mode. The Blue Hens finished last season on a 19-2 run before falling to Michigan State in the opening round of the Big Dance. There will be no dancing for the Blue Hens this season, unless they pull off a small miracle and win their conference postseason tourney. Delaware is 1-11 to start the season, including 0-7 on the road. They rank 346th in FG percentage, 308th in points scored per game, and 332nd in points allowed per game. They can't shoot and have had a horrible time defending the deep perimeter where they have allowed the opposition to make 39% of their 3-point attempts. Hofstra has four players averaging between 19 ppg and 11 ppg, and Juan'ya Green is an absolute nightmare of a matchup, not only averaging over 17 ppg, but also dishing out 90 assists with just 28 turnovers. The Pride lost all three meetings to Delaware last season, including a conference tourney loss that ended their campaign. I expect this contest to get ugly early and stay that way. Hofstra is on a 10-3 ATS run at home against teams with a losing record, while the Blue Hens enter on a 1-8-1 ATS slide against teams with a winning record. I'm laying the points with Hofstra on Monday night. Thanks & GL! Scott Spreitzer.
