DC United vs Kansas City
- statistically this bet makes no sense, let me just throw that out there. My #1 rule in betting overs is find two teams that have good background in both scoring and conceding and these two do not. In DC's 5 games, all losses, they scored and conceded just once while being shutout in the other 4. KC haven't scored in 312'and in none of their 5 games did they both score and concede. If you read my preview you'd see that both teams are performing as expected...DC hired KC's horrible coach and have no true volante while KC have a group of pathetic strikers. So why would I play the over? Well, first off DC united's defense is a complete joke and you can't have a 2.25 line with them even against punchless KC. They have 7 injured defenders but two (Pena/Simms) likely returning tonight though Simms into the MF. So all starting defenders are injured which is why expansion teams are scoring 3 on them. Up front they just re-signed Emilio who will play tonight though Pontius continues to miss out. The MF stays in tact so DC no real worries in attack or MF but fully mess in defense. They will press hard as they are 0-0-5 and match is on national TV plus they are getting close to worst start in MLS history. DC have been getting a lot of scoring chances. In last week's Open Cup match they netted 4 times, had 11 shots against NYRB, and 14 shots against Chicago. For this league that is not bad production except the goals aren't coming. In the 4-0 loss at KC to open the year they had several great chances from Moreno, Quaranta, and Najar but hit the crossbar and save Neilsen make great saves. Obviously KC had no problems scoring in that one, netting 4 times, and DC had both James and Jakovic in defense that match (both are hurt tonight). So, I see two teams desperate for a win and X just won't do. KC have b2b home games coming up but against the two best teams in the east, Chi/Cbus, then two tough road games at RSL/Tor, so 3 points is a must. Likewise DC have a road game in Dallas over the weekend to start a stretch of 6 straight games against Western Conference and you all know how I feel about the west vs the east!

New England vs Chivas USA
- The Revs pulled a lucky draw from Dallas over the weekend despite being badly outplayed even before they had two guys sent off. Now they will host a team much better than Dallas, CUSA, without a bunch of players. Obviously they had two MF sent off last match that won't play while their three big names (Joseph, Twellman, Reis) continue out of the lineup and now add another MF, Osei, to the missing list. Their backline is solid though and CUSA not a great offensive club but they will still be putting out a real joke of a MF and attack. CUSA's strength is MF and they will likely dominate possession. I absolutely hate backing a team that played halfway across the country on a Saturday, flew back to LA, then flew 3000 km to Boston for another away game just 4 days later but NE cannot be favored here. CUSA are getting better every match but need to shore up that defense though they are likely to see little attack from the Revs tonight. Can't got with a big stake on a team in b2b away games with long flights east though but give me the better team with confidence out of the western conference and I will take it. NE are 0-1-1 hosting western teams and 0-1-3 against western teams overall.
