Sporting KC vs FC Dallas
- I don't particularly like betting against Dallas but this recent heavy stretch of matches and travel must take it's toll. They caught a tough break in midweek as they played in Toronto for the Concacaf CL match on Wednesday night. They played a tough 45 minutes in a downpour on a heavy, rain-soaked field and led at the break 1-0 only for lighting to abandon the match. Concacaf ordered a full 90' replay the following day, yesterday in very hot and humid weather where the players on both sides were visibly gassed. After the match they had a mid afternoon flight to KC so would have landed last night and have only today to recuperate for tomorrow's match against a team that took them apart early in the season. This will be Dallas' 7th match in just 24 days not including the "half of a match" from Wednesday night. Even worse is it's their 5.5th match in just 14 days and the travel this month has been ridiculous, going from Dallas to Los Angeles, crossing country to Philly, going to Mexico City, back to Dallas, north to Toronto, now back south to Kansas City. Brutal! Sporting KC has no international commitment and are in the middle of that 9 game home stand, so haven't even left KC. They've only lost once here in their new park and are finally getting healthy after having half their regulars out for most of August. Jeferson, Davy Arnaud, and Craig Rocastle are all back to training as is top center back Aurelien Collin and top player Omar Bravo back from suspension so a nearly fully-fit, rested squad to go against some guys that will either be playing dead tired or, more likely, their backups. They do have 3 guys on international duty (Kamara, Bunbury, Thomas) but they aren't leaving until after this match so they'll be on the pitch Saturday night. Dallas is certainly a top 4 team in MLS but against an up-tempo 4-3-3 it should simply be a bad match-up for them in a very rough scheduling spot especially with the Wed/Thu match this week.
