Saw this on ESPN didn’t find anymore info on it.....to actually set any kind of date for any sport at this point is exciting!!! Tentative or not it’s a hard date they are targeting a return of Major League Soccer

Does anyone have anymore info?? Was anything mentioned about fans or no fans?

I'm optimistic about this start date for MLS, but I don't see how this doesn't get pushed back a little.

MLB originally said mid-May, now they are saying early June.

The NHL and NBA have some big decisions to make on how or if they finish up their seasons.

I just want to hear some positive news as well. Something to look forward to.

I know what you mean....I don't follow it either....was just pumped to see them put a hard date on an actual live event in a stadium. Shockingly they do get good attendance

"MLS attendance has grown since the early 2000s and is among the fastest-growing in the world. The average attendance of 21,692 in 2016 was a 57% increase over the 13,756 average in 2000. The total attendance of 7,375,144 in 2016 is more than triple the 2,215,019 total of 2002.

I have friends who are sports fans and LOVE MLS. It got very big in Orlando and Atlanta VERY fast. I know Seattle always had a big following.

We just got a new team in south florida and the home opener was a few days away before we got shut down. I knew many people who were going and I heard they sold out of season tickets. Stadium looks pretty cool from the outside.

The younger generation is into soccer b/c they know the game starts and finishes in less than 2 hours.

(i still dont watch)

i think you misunderstood their announcement. they had originally ppd through march 30 so when that day came along they needed to provide a new target date and chose may 10 which matches up with USL Championship date (most usl teams are farm teams for mls). they are just, more or less, giving the players and staff advanced notice that nothing will be happening for the next month

is no different than the EPL pushing their suspended league date to april 30. nobody actually expects they will be playing those games scheduled for 5/1-5/3
