Philadelphia vs LA Galaxy

- GOY for Philly getting Beckham's club in town for a nationally televised match. Philly have been a solid expansion club and really one of the more entertaining teams, which means they allow too many goals. At home they are very tough to beat losing just once in 3 months and outplaying nearly every opponent. The Galaxy have been hot since Beckham's return and they're scoring a ton of goals again but a quick turnaround from Sunday night superclasico and a cross country flight to Philly isn't great for their group of older players. Philly's LeToux trails LA's Buddle by just 2 goals for the golden boot so he'll, for sure, be motivated. Philly are scoring a solid 1.54 home goals per game but have a hard time holding a lead (only 5-4-2 when scoring first) so if LA scores first this bet is dead since they are 15-0-0 when scoring the first goal and 14-0-0 when leading at HT. This is certainly a more important game for LA, trying to secure the supporters shield, while Philly playing for pride but I expect a big home effort as fans and team circled this match as their biggest of the year.

i like it. i prefer the over though. philly has been the highest scoring team at home and LA certainly has the firepower to pop in 2-3 themselves

Chicago Fire vs Columbus Crew

- certainly wish Columbus had a more fired up opponent to face in this short turnaround but I can't see them throwing out a top side for the match. They lost a tough game late last night in Seattle will fly back to Columbus today, take a day off, then fly to Chicago for Friday's game. Columbus is in bad form, winless in 4, and have almost no chance at the supporters shield now. Their playoff spot is guaranteed so really just playing out the season and waiting for the playoffs to begin plus the big match in Trinidad later this month. I'm sure they'd like to win the east but playoff seeding in MLS is of no real consequence. Chicago did a very poor season even after adding Freddie and Nery but with those two and Marco Pappa they have a solid offensive trio. Nobody has any real clue whey they can't score (shut out 5 of last 6) but I think they have a bit of pride left and win this one. They do have the slimmest of slim playoff chances but I'm really playing them on pride and weary Crew legs. Fire miss their rookie starting keeper due to an eye injury but Columbus do without Renteria (venez) and Francis (Jamaica) with national teams. The Fire have only been shutout once in franchise history in 3 straight road games so they must score tonight to keep from adding a new instance. They have scored more goals than Columbus in open play but need to watch for set pieces as Cbus have scored 12 times from a free kick, corner, or penalty. Much like last night the Crew cannot score first for this bet to win as they are 7-0-0 when leading at HT and 12-1-0 when scoring the first goal. Third match in 6 days for the Crew and I will always play against this situation even with an out of form Fire who've not defeated Cbus in 3 years.

KC Wizards vs Seattle
- last chance for KC and they get a real break to face a Seattle team that has been very busy lately and likely not too focused on this match. The Sounders won the US Open Cup late Tuesday night defeating Columbus at home and now head east to face a very strong KC team in a must-win situation. Seattle are inside the playoffs by 9 points and 2 teams are between them and KC so have nearly clinced a playoff spot in addition to clinching their 2011 Concacaf CL spot. KC have played one less game than Col and Sea so a win here coupled with a SJ or Colorado loss (both playing away) leaves them just 4-5-6 points behind a playoff spot with 3 left while two of those team have just 2 games left. The Wizards can easily go 4-0-0 with Sea/Chi/NE/KC left and, while it might seem like their good form is gone having lost 2 straight, they are playing very well. Their 1-0 loss in NY was not justified but great goalkeeping and brutal finishing took away points. They launched an amazing 26 shots, 12 on goal, but were stymied by the woodwork and Bouna Coundoul so the scoreboard did not tell the story. On the year they've wo attempted 75 more shots than opponents and put 42 more shots on goal yet have a -2 goal differential. Seattle will wear down soon enough despite their terrific form of 5-0-1 in past 6 games. This will be match #9 in just 1 month which included trips to Mexico, Costa Rica, and Columbus and the fact is they have a home game next weekend vs Chivas USA which will shore up a playoff spot so this is just a bad situation for them. I expect a big letdown from the US Open Cup match and for Seattle to really look ahead to the much more winnable matches vs CUSA and Houston for the final points they need. This will be the 4th match in 9 days playing in 3 different tournaments which is tough on both players and coaches to prepare. Really wouldn't surprise me to see them leave a good number of starters at home to rest for next weekend's CUSA match. A point here is no good for KC as only 3 will do. KC without starting centerback due to call up but Seattle without cup hero, Nyassi, on his way to play with Gambia
