New England vs Houston
- these teams could not be in more different form. New England learning to live with injuries and are not only in the Interleague finals but are hot in league play as well. Defensively they are playing fantastic soccer with an incredible 5 shutouts in 7 matches. They've had a week off now after a very busy month so should be well prepared for the struggling Dynamo. Houston have won just three matches since May, are on a 4-match winless streak, and are 0-1-5 4/15 in last 6 away. The only team they've held scoreless on the road all year was Chivas USA and they have several key players injured. Onstad (gk) is out as is Davis (mf) with both Serioux (df) and Cochrane (df) unlikely to play. Revs will miss important RFB Alston but should debut their new attacking partnership of Perovic/Stolica who will be a handful for the makeshift Houston defense.

RBNY vs LA Galaxy
- possible preview of the MLS Cup as the match will feature 4 of the biggest offensive threats in MLS with Donovan, Buddle, Henry, and Angel. Since adding Henry the Red Bulls peppered Chicago with a 22-5 shots advantage away from home then beat Toronto 1-0 in midweek. Despite posting a clean sheet in 5 of their last 8 games I'm not sold at all on RBNY's defense. Adding Marquez should help but they attack so much that spaces are always left open for the opposition. TFC put 12 shots at them, several incredible chances, and Chicago missed a few clear openings as well. Somehow the Galaxy have lost all ability to defend now allowing a goal in 8 straight matches The opposition over this period has been very poor to boot with 2 matches vs USL Puerto Rico, and games against lower table MLS clubs like NE, DC, SJ, CHI, and SEA. Now they must face the top partnership in MLS, Henry/Angel, a very in-form attacking MF in Lindpere, and great speedy wide MF like Richards and Kandji. The only thing missing from this match on offense is Beckham but it will be a nice national TV match that should produce many goals.I can't see LA stopping RBNY nor can I see the questionable Red Bulls defense stopping Donovan and Buddle.

San Jose vs Kansas City
- very impressive form KC is in right now with 4 matches unbeaten plus a friendly win over Man United. The opposition level has been very high as well since all clubs are currently in playoff positions. SJ have failed to score in 2 straight, are winless in 3, and will play with an all-new back 4 against KC's new and improved offense. Ryan Smith is moving up the list of MLS playmakers while rookie Bunbury is getting hot and striker Kamara has been solid all season. Hard to explain just how bad SJ's injury problems are particularly in defense. In all, 9 players are out including entire starting back 4 which forces them to use a midfielder at left back and a right back who has been with the club for 7 days. Without Corrales. Opara, Burling, and Leitch in defense means SJ must rely on an offense that has been shutout in 4 of the last 7 games. They do have creative potential with Arturo Alvarez up front and Ryan Johnson should be a more productive player than he is (1 goal) but they've still only won once in 9 matches. SJ haven't been great at home and KC have been awful away but with their current form you just can't make SJ this big of a favorite.
