I enjoyed the write ups .... good luck tonight Enfuego

I like them as well but when nobody responds to your threads you kind of feel like you're wasting your time. Some guys will post with big dramatic words and flashy adjectives and then lose so I'd rather just try and post some winners.

CUBS RL -135

RECORD SINCE POSTING POD'S 6-2-1 +2.92 UNITS

Let's recap shall we? Monday night saw us take the under 10 in the SF/Colorado game and the game was 1-1 into the 14th despite Colorado having two chances to win in extra innings. The Giants scored 3 runs in the top and the Rawks scored 5 in the bottom to give us the push. I've never seen 8 runs scored like that to push or lose but oh well.

Then, last night, we saw the Phillies take a 4-3 lead into the bottom of the 9th only to see the worst closer in baseball come in and blow the lead and the win. Two very bad beats in two days.

I'm taking the Cubs RL tonight because I just think they beat the shit out of the Nats tonight. The Cubs have won 4 out of 5 this year against the Nats with an average margin of victory being 3.75. Rich Harden beat the Nats back in July 6-2 and although he's only 1-2 in his last three starts he does have a 1.80 ERA indicating to me he's received next to no run support.

Livan goes for the Nats today and is flat out terrible on the year. He's 9-14 with a 5.47 ERA and his last three outings is 0-3 with a 11.30 ERA.

The Cubs may be struggling but just take the better team here against a terrible starting pitcher. Harden isn't having his best year but is off year is probably 10x better than Livan's best year.

Key Stats:
Washington is just 2-6 in their last 8.
Soriano is doubtful and I like that because I think he's shitty.

PHILLIES RL -125

RECORD SINCE POSTING POD'S 7-2-1 +3.92 UNITS

I may regret doing this but I'm backing the Phils again today with J.A. Happ on the hill. Other than the blown save by Lidge two nights ago the Phils have beaten Pitt 4 out of 5 games this year including a victory by Happ on July 12th 5-2. Despite that blown save, the Phills are still 8-2 over their last 10 and 41-22 on the road.

I mentioned a few days ago J.A. Happ being a rookie but this guy is seriosly pitching like a seasoned veteran. The guy is 10-2 with a 2.59 ERA and over his last 3 is 2-0 with a 1.74 ERA. He has been great on the road and this is another good spot to back him.

RHP Charlie Morton gets the ball for the Pirates and on the year he's only 3-6 with a 5.21 ERA. In his last three outings he's 1-2 with a 9.49 ERA. Three of his 6 losses have come at home where's gone a total of 16 innings.

Again, back one of the best teams in baseball who is red hot with a very good pitcher against one of the game's worst teams with a terrible pitcher.

Good luck.

Key Stats:

Pitt is hitting just .247 over their last 10 against LHP.
I don't take much stock in this stat but Pitt is only 5-17 over their last 22 Thursday games.

CUBS ML -117

RECORD SINCE POSTING POD'S 8-3-1 +3.67 UNITS

I haven't posted a MLB play since 8/27 but I'm feeling a lot better boys so I thought I'd better get back on the bike.

I'm backing the Cubs today with Ryan Dempster for a number of different reasons. Yeah, I know the Cubs are just 69-67 and yes I know they're 11.5 games out but the Cubs have flat out worn out the Pirates this year. The clubs have met 9 times this year with the Cubs taking the win in 7 of those games and have taken 24 of the last 30 matchups between the two.

The Pirates have also lost 9 of their last 10 games and they'll face Ryan Dempster tonight. Over his last 3 outings Dempster is 2-1 with a 1.80 ERA and although he lost to the Pirates this year it was way back on May 25th.

Zach Duke gets the pill for the Pirates and over his last 3 outings he's 1-2 with a terrible 6.75 ERA. Duke has faced the Cubs 3 times this year with the Pirates taking the loss in all 3 matchups. Duke last took the mound against the Reds where he was battered for 5 runs and 9 hits including 2 HR's in only 6 innings of work. Over his last 2 starts he's posted 10.00 ERA.

Got to back the better team against the team that has lost 9 of 10.

Key Stats:

The butt Pirates are just 17-39 in their last 56 overall.

Good Luck

WHITE SOX/A'S UNDER 9.5

RECORD SINCE POSTING POD'S 9-3-1 +4.67 UNITS

Good hit with the Cubs ML yesterday so let's keep it rolling. I haven't played many totals lately but I do like this one today.

Although the over yesterday hit with ease the under this year has hit in 5 of 8 previous meetings. Dating back to 2008 the under between these two teams has hit 12 out of 17 times.

The A's send Trevor Cahill to the hill and all he's done in his last three outings has gone 2-0 with a 2.37 ERA. He also faced the CWS in mid August and although he got the no decision he held the White Sox to only 2 earned runs.

The CWS send veteran Freddy Garcia to the mound and he's 1-1 with a 3.44 ERA over his last three outings. Garcia got his first win on the year during his last outing giving up only one earned run in 6 innings against the Red Sox.

Key Stats:

Under is 7-3 in OAK last 10 road games.
Under is 8-1 in CHW last 9 home games.
Under is 21-7 in CHW last 28 Wed. games.
Under is 19-7 in CHW last 26 overall.
Under is 15-6 in the last 21 meetings.

Good Luck

Good luck tonight

I know most are not paying attention but I am.

I got online last night at crunch time and bet the Marlins and saw your play and got in on Cubs in the nick of time.

Was going to chime in after the first inning but didn't want to mush it.

I also bet M's under 7.5 last night for a 3-0 + $600

Thanks!

Thanks BC. Most guys look for the big flashy words (GOY, GOW or Platinum this or that) but have no clue that playing one game a day can be quite profitable.

LAA -170

RECORD SINCE POSTING POD'S 10-3-1 +5.67 UNITS

I have no clue where my Oakland/CWS under 9.5 post went from last night but I assure you it did win. Nevertheless let's move to Thursday night.

I like the Angels tonight. I know it's alot of chalk but sometimes you just have to lay it in my opinion. I like the fact here that the Angels are still trying to win games as Texas is only 4.5 games back. What I mean is there is incentive to win the game.

Coming into this game the Angels send RHP John Lackey to the hill. Lackey has always been tough and in his last 3 outings he's onlly 1-1 but has a miniscule 2.35 ERA. The fact of the matter is the Angels staff has been much improved posting a 2.55 ERA so far this month. Lackey has had a rough time with Seattle but I think the Angles bats will make up for any runs he gives up. Coming into the game the Angles hit .298 in the month of August and they do own the major league's best mark hitting .290 on the year.

The M's send out LHP Ryan Rowland-Smith. Rowlin-Smith has been solid over his last 3 going 1-1 with a 3.22 ERA. That said, his win against Oakland on Friday was his first in a month. Smith is 0-1 in two career starts against the Angels. Look for the Angels to rough him up a bit tonight.

Key Stats:
LAA hits .281 on the year against LHP.
Over their last 10 games the Angels are hitting .317 against LHP.
Vlad Guerrero is 4-7 against Rowland-Smith with a HR in his career.
LAA are 7-1 in Lackeys last 8 starts vs. SEA.

NYY RL -140

RECORD SINCE POSTING POD'S 11-3-1 +6.67 UNITS

Like I've said all along it's always my position to just take good teams vs. teams that aren't good. That sounds very basic and in all reality it is very basic. Tonight you have a lot of chalk around the bigs but I'm going to lay a little with the Yanks RL.

I'm not even going to go into Andy Pettitte's last three outing numbers but I'll provide you with the only statistic that really matters to me and that is the fact that the Yankees are 18-4 against Baltimore in Pettitte's last 22 starts against the Orioles. That, my friends, is total domination of one team over another. At 56-83 you can say the Orioles are slightly bad. They are especially bad against LHP hitting only .253 on the year not to mention they are only 3-7 over their last 10 games. Take away the one right handed bat they do have (Adam Jones Injury) and you have a recipe for a blowout tonight in NY.

Chris Tillman gets the ball for the sad Orioles and is only 1-3 on the year and 0-2 in his last 3 outings. The veteran Yanks hit .278 on the year against RHP and a red hot .307 against RHP over their last 10. They're also 8-2 overall in that stretch.

Look, this is very easy. A team that is terrible and very cold against the league's best that is red hot. Who are you going to take tonight?

Key Stats:
Over their last 10 games the Orioles are hitting just .196 against LHP.
Yanks have taken 12 of 15 in the series this year.
The Yanks have won all 6 games in NY this year against the O's outscoring them 41-18.
