Marlins acquired RHP Dan Straily from the Reds for RHPs Luis Castillo and Austin Brice and OF Isaiah White.

All of the physicals have been passed and both teams have made official announcements that the four-player trade is complete. It's a nice package of talent for the rebuilding Reds, and in return the win-now-mode Marlins get a cost-controlled starter who flourished in Cincinnati last season. Straily is under contract with Miami through 2020. He'll be arbitration-eligible for the first time next winter. This should be a good fit for fantasy purposes, though Straily was probably headed for some regression either way.

Brewers signed RHP Neftali Feliz to a one-year, $5.35 million contract.

There are some performance incentives in the deal that could push it to $6.85 million. Feliz will open the 2017 season as the Brewers' closer if everything goes smoothly this spring. A former ninth-inning man for the Rangers, the 28-year-old right-hander posted a cool 3.52 ERA, 1.137 WHIP, and 61/21 K/BB ratio across 53 2/3 frames last summer in a setup role with Pittsburgh.

Yankees GM Brian Cashman said the team will go to an arbitration hearing with Dellin Betances.

Betances filed at $5 million and the Yankees at $3 million when arbitration figures were exchanged earlier this month. Which salary he receives for the 2017 season will be decided by an arbitration panel around spring training. The stud 28-year-old reliever boasts a 2.16 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, and 14.3 K/9 in 254 2/3 career major league innings.

Phillies signed OF Michael Saunders to a one-year, $9 million contract with an $11 million club option for 2018.

Saunders found a less-than-fertile free agent market for himself this offseason after struggling badly in the second half of the 2016 season, but he looks like a good buy-low for the Phillies as they continue their rapid organizational rebuild. If he gets off to another hot start in 2017, the Phillies can deal him for more young talent. Saunders, 30, still finished with a respectable .815 OPS and 24 homers in 140 games last year with Toronto. He's a late-round guy in deep leagues.

According to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports, free agent Jason Hammel was "in talks with the Mariners" when he switched agents in late December.

Hammel moved his representation from Octagon to ACES, and his new reps at ACES apparently didn't approve of Seattle's offer. Now that ship has probably sailed. The veteran right-hander is struggling to attract significant interest on the free agent market this winter despite recording 15 wins and a 3.83 ERA in 30 starts last season for the World Series-champion Cubs. There are obviously real concerns about his elbow.
