You're down 5 units. But I guess it's tough to account for the vig when you're betting with fake money.

Actually with the juice he is 0.00 on the week so far.
South Carolina +10 units
Oregon -27.5 units (-17.5 units)
Tulane -5.5 units (-23 units)
Minnesota -11 units (-34 units)
Baylor +5 (-29 units)
Ok St +10 units (-19 units)
Uconnn +5 (-14 units)
Alabama +10 units (-4 units)
LSU -11 units (-15 units)
Ole Miss +5 units (-10 units)
Col St +10 units (0 units)

Before you come in a thread and bash somebody go the Walmart and get yourself a big button calculator to do simply math with since your fingers or the crayons you use for math don't quite get the job done.

Foot in mouth...how does it taste?

Thanks to all, should be a fun labor day. Like I said anything in the + money is a win for me in Week 1 and Week 2 because that is where I have struggled in the past.

Good Luck to all today!

Enjoy reading your analysis and appreciate your posting. Best of luck to you this season MistaFlava. Did the same thing as you on Saturday results wise...played 21 games (not posted) and won 11 lost 10 to break even. Unfortunately lost both on Sunday....so looking for some winners next weekend. Will play only a few compared to this week. Reality has come home!!..JJ

not trying to be an ass but I think the jacory Harris as a Heisman candidate is far from actuality. I would be careful about this pick, as I believe FSU will beat them by +10 points. They (FSU) have a very experienced O-Line and prob one of the best in the nation which is still young but more experienced with a year under their belt. With that said watch the running game open up with Jermaine Thomas who avg. 7 yds a caryy, ~500 yds on the year as a FRESHMAN, and wasn't even the starter. This guy is going to really have a break out day and is a dark horse in college football. Last year FSU killed them with an inexperienced O-line and threw up +300 yards on the ground against that stellar Defense Miami was suppose to have that year. They only had about 50 yds of rushing that year.

I agree the secondary is weak on FSU but I just don't see Jacory Harris do anything IMO. Last year the score showed that it was a close game but FSU basically was throwing the game to Miami with stupid turnovers. FSU has 4 turnovers which 2 were interception and 2 fumbles and I am not taking anything away from Miami but the game conditions were just horrendous.

GL with your pick and its always a pleasure of reading your nice write ups.

JTS,
In last year's matchup, Miami was missing LB Colin McCarthy who is a beast at stopping the run. He'll be playing tonight though.

As for last year, Miami did struggle mightily to run the ball. But isn't FSU missing 3 tackles for this game?

No they are not missing 3 tackles in fact they are stacked there. Good point about Miami having that LB back but he's one guy and I don't see him making a big diff in stopping the run. Fsu o-line will be able to protect ponder and with that said he should have a very effective game.

Only time will tell and it's 7 hour till game time.

Let's discuss edges for a second here:

QB: Even (Both Ponder and Harris are capable of big things)
RB: Miami (It's not even close)
WR: Miami (They have by far the best group of Receivers in the ACC)
OL: Florida State (All that does is give Ponder more time)
DL: Miami (Once again this is the best D-Line in the ACC and TOP 5 in the Nation)
LB: Miami (No argument here, the best in the ACC)
DB: Even (Playmakers all over the place in both secondaries)
Special Teams: Miami (Bosher has a sick leg, Travis Benjamin is one of the top returners in the Nation)
Coaching: Florida State (Randy Shannon is a joke, Bowden has good coordinators)

Edge: Miami 5-2-2

So having taken all of this into account and lot more on the side, how can anyone possible like the Noles by that many points? This game ends by a FG at the very least or the Canes blow the Noles out of the water but I don't see that happening. Nonetheless, Miami has too much talent and most people will remember the name Travis Benjamin after tonight (didn't he have 300+ yards against FSU last year as a frosh with a couple of TD's?).

Good Luck regardless, but the Canes is my play of the week.

I have been following both of these programs for twenty five years and attended many of these games. This is as pure a rivalry as there is. Both of these teams are improved and I wish this game was played later in the year. It has been very common for the visiting team to win this game in recent years. Miami has lost 3 of the last 4 games including last year in Miami. 3 of the last 4 games have been decided by a field goal or less. I like Miami and the points here. It should be close.

Miami's running game wasn't anything like this year's running game is going to be. Should be their best running attack in years. This reminds me of the year Frank Gore, Tyrone Moss and Jarrett Payton ran the ball for a combined 1900+ yards. Just watch. They might not dominate but this is a huge improvement on last year's ground game.

Enjoy the game, your opinions seem very biased.
