What a dick gerhard houlier is, what a absolute moron. Here you ve got your team that all game long while they are pressing upfront and in the midfield have dominated the game, they ve accepted very few chances against them, and they ve been far more dangerous upfront. Come the 60something minute and he signals reatreat, the italians which at no point they did take up possesion in midfield gladly accept this unexpected gift, this stupidity of unpressedented proportions, and do what they do best long balls into the area (because pirlo was crap and is out, kaka is horrible today) and hopefully something will happen, and of course it will if you keep attacking.
And then it happens 1 goal on the 88th, then lyon don't know what hit them and another to make it 3-1.
That's not to say that the value play was milan here, as the game demostrated lyon were the right side, too bad they got a bozo on the bench.
What a fucking dick...pisses me off to see such a good team being wasted upon him...

JackDee said:fh, thanks for the reply bro, when I said Lyon was doing well, I meant compared from what you d expect from a milan team at home, they had good pace, and good control of the game, and to that respect we completely agree that "Frankly, the best defense for each team was their own offensive attack." That's exactly the reason why I saw the big choke job approaching. And I am sure you saw all that space lyon where giving up in the end and how they retreated. I agree with your observations of the brazilian defence, let's keep this angle in mind for our world cup bets.
Let also say once again how carlo anceloti by far outplayed houlier on the bench, I mean you d expect him, most "coaches" would just put gilardino in to have another offensive player and rui costa for some ball control and vertical passing, but instead of that he took some really gutsy steps in putting Maldini in instead and Ambrosini, to have two more powerful, more experience and spirited players, despite them being more defence oriented, and that for me made all the difference. I got to give it to him.
Man of the match for me is Pipo Inzaghi, this guy's got some big soccer personality, did you notice that the attack for the second goal actually started when pipo pissed off at the way things were going actually travelled all the way from the attack to under the midfield in milans area marked a lyon player, stole the ball, and then went all the way back, and that's how the second goal begun.
I sure hope for the italians lippi starts seeing all this.
