The Spartans' offense was stuck in neutral last week in their 29-7 loss to Michigan which was somewhat surprising considering their impressive 34-28 win over Wisconsin as 7-point home dogs in their previous game.
This week Michigan State will travel to Champaign and take on the 7-1 Fighting Illini. This is the first time in a very long time that Illinois has been favored in this Big Ten rivalry and the oddsmakers have gone overboard knowing the public will blindly back the overachieving Illini against the spectacularly disappointing Spartans.
Illinois has a tremendous defense but their offense is somewhat pedestrian which is why I feel this line is just too high. Let’s grab the 17 and back the road pup here.
