I think its a no play... OSU loves to play games like this ugly. They have a freshman QB, that they tend to protect with their playcalling. Tressel's D is stout and he won't take any chances. I look for Wells to carry 25 times and Pryor to run another 12-15 times. The Bucks will look to control the clock, control field position, and force MSU to throw the ball. I seen OSU winning any where from 17-13 to 27 - 10. OSU will win this game, but Tressell will slow it up and play it close to the "vest".

I love how everyone thinks MSU is going to shit the bed since half the season's over! I would not factor that in when wagering on this team now with Dantonio as coach. This is not the same team John L Smith coached.

With that being said I think MSU is still over rated but could easily beat OSU. This will be a game that I take the under in but if I had to choose a team I would go with the Buckeyes since they will put a stop to the running game...

Phillyman go with what you think. Dont let these guys persuade you with there opinions. Michigan St wins this game su. How can you say a team will shit the bed when they lose there first game and win there next 6. That is not a team that shits the bed. Who has ohio st played besides usc that is any better than the teams michigan st has played. Iowa can beat ohio st at home if they dont turn it over. Michigan st may be lucky but what do you think causes turnovers. Hard hitting and pressure on the qb. Michigan state wins this game dont let them talk you out of it.:nono5:

I think MSU wins this game.
B. Wells is not 100% and the entire D is going to be keying him. So that will leave it up to Pryor to make plays. I dont think he is a true run threat so he is going to have to air it out.
MSU has a well balanced team. OSU will take the run from MSU.
This game is going to come down to QB's who can throw the ball better and not make a mistake. MSU always has luck breaks with the Bucks.
I am a big OSU fan! Shit I even have a picture of me with Art Schlichter!
The game should be a pickem
so I like MSU

I MAY BE IN THE MINORITY BUT I LIKE MICH ST HERE..
OSU HAS BEEN WAY OVER VALUED. THEY ARE ONE LATE SCORE AGAINST A SUSPECT WISKY TEAM FROM BEING 0-6 ATS.THIS SHOULD BE A LOW SCORING GAME SO TAKE THE HOME TEAM WITH THE POINTS. IF UNSURE BUY UP TO 4 :toast:

Over 42, easy $$$. Good defenses = short fields for the offenses...Pryor/Wells and company due to explode, too much talent on offense not to eventually.

don't forget about the dissension on the Buckeye team. Several players complaining about Pryor, calling for Boeckman to play. Haven't seen this kind of controversy since the John Cooper years.

Defenses have figured out how to stop Pryor and Tressel won't open up the playbook for fear of turnovers. And don't forget they have Penn State next week, remember how well they played Troy ahead of USC. MSU wins easy.

sorry, meant to say Ohio U, not Troy, before the USC game (Ohio U dominated until late in the game)

True, Tressel won't open up the playbook. That is a serious problem when trying to cover a huge spread. But, in a game where a field goal win guarantees a push at minimum, i like Ohio State a lot more. And Ohio State won't look past Michigan State. First of all MSU is ranked, so they aren't sneaking up on anyone, and secondly Ohio State cannot afford another loss and reach their goal of the national title game. So, i think Ohio state takes the Spartans very seriously, even with PSU on deck.

Don't take my word for it as the only influence to your bet, but I have a little inside information that this may in fact not be the case this week. Rumors are that the coaching staff has adjusted passing routes and the receivers running those routes, mainly allowing younger, faster receivers more playing time. I don't think they'd be doing that if their plan was to throw it 15 times this game. Tressel knows he has to throw it to beat D'Antonio's defense, and all indications are that he's planning to.

I like OSU. MSU's advantage in most games, their running back is the 2nd best in this game. I like OSU's defense against a 1-dimensional offense.

Don't worry, i was taking Ohio state at this price no matter what the game plan was. They were favored by 18 over the Spartans last year and I know that Michigan State isn't that good.

Ohio State thrives against one-dimensional attacks. Their defense suffers when it faces athletic, spread attack type teams. Michigan State is about as far away from that as it gets. Perfect matchup for Ohio state.

Agreed on both fronts. I think MSU ML would be a good investment as I can see this one going either way. OSU's struggling offense, paired up with a fairly one dimensional MSU offense against a solid OSU D makes the under a pretty good play at 42.

I would respectfully disagree about Wells and Ringer. OSU offense has been the weak spot, where as Hoyer had a spectacular game last week. But you are right, the test will be how well MSU handles the fast and punishing Buckeye D.

Larry Ness has a play on OSU in the service thread, page 2. I mention it in case you're interested in the write up.
