Picking Michigan is a bet on their defense. Strength vs Weakness (ND O vs UM D) and weakenss vs weakness (UM O vs ND D).

Michigan wins in a squeaker. ND is impotent offensively. Nearly losing at home to SDSU does not instill confidence. Personally, I'm not touching this game unless the O/U is in the 40s for some odd reason. The way this game is set up, it's a total guessing game as to who will play worse. That's not how you make bets IMO.

Neither team has shown any ability to move the ball consistently. I think the under is the play here, first team to 17 points wins the game.

Once ND gave up on trying to run, they moved the ball. Friends who went to the game said they couldn't move SD St but the pass protection was good. Still, no one has solved the riddle of how Michigan will score.

the fact that clausen said after the game i hope this shows everyone how good we are is got to be the dumbest comment ever after a game.

Michigan because
1. I hate ND so much im betting against them all year no matter what
2. ND is that bad that a michigan team playing with kids on O i cant believe could of been recruited to a d1 team let alone Mich are still underdogs.
3. We thought this last year and michigan waxed them.

Posted a bunch in Conan's thread on this game. Guarantee that 38-0 score from 2007 will be all the motivation needed. ND left a lot of points on the field last week, but it was only their first game. If teams improve the most from week one to week two, then someone please explain how they could back Michigan on the road at a pick? They scored 6 points after the 1st qtr vs Miami Ohio. Utah gave them a lot of points too. ND blitzed alot last week, SD St used many short routes. Can't see Michigan's lack of playmakers on offense exploiting this. If ND can take care of the ball, they should win by 10+ points. This is the worst Michigan team since the late 60's.
Fair Warning,

Yes. You are very correct in saying that Notre Dame left a lot of points on the field vs. SDSU. That is true. The Wolverines also missed some opportunties themselves vs. Miami OH. I hate to compare those to opposing schools but I do believe I would have to say Miami OH takes the head to head vs. SDSU. For you to use that Notre Dame left a lot of points on the field would further my point that they will do nothing vs. the Michigan defense. If they left them there vs. SDSU ... will the capitolize vs. Michigan?
