Despite Thursday's report from Jay Glazer of FOX that the Falcons "think" Turner will return this week at Tampa Bay, we remain skeptical. He has a high ankle sprain, the Falcons are more secretive about injuries than most teams, and Turner was unable to practice in full all week. The good news is that the game starts at 1ET, so we'll know Turner's status early. Jason Snelling will not be a fantasy option if Turner is active.

Wyche is a reliable source as he used to cover the Falcons for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Turner will still test his ankle sprain in warmups, but Wyche says there were enough positive signs in practice that the Falcons consider him probable to play. Turner will start if he's active and Jason Snelling needs to be on benches.

Jason Snelling and Jerious Norwood will share the load against Philly's top-eight run defense. Neither is a very attractive fantasy option. Wyche confirms that Turner aggravated his high ankle sprain in Week 12, making it quite possible that this won't be the last game he misses. Turner can't be dropped in fantasy leagues, but the Falcons' late-season outlook as a team is bleak.

Jason Snelling will start at running back, but he'll likely split touches with Jerious Norwood. Since Snelling will receive goal-line carries, he's the better fantasy play. Either Brian Finneran or Marty Booker will fill in for Jenkins, though neither is remotely a fantasy option. Downgrade Chris Redman slightly in a tough matchup.

They'd probably be listed as "doubtful" if the Falcons were transparent about injury situations. Ryan did some work in Friday's pre-practice walkthrough and has a long shot's chance of playing Sunday against New Orleans, although it's unlikely. Turner couldn't even take any pre-practice reps. Look for Jerious Norwood to start at tailback and share work with Jason Snelling.

Even in a must win situation, Ryan and Turner aren't going to go. Chris Redman starts at quarterback while Jerious Norwood gets the nod at running back. However, Jason Snelling is the goal line back and therefore the better fantasy play.

Turner will run on the side to test his aggravated high ankle sprain. He says he is making strides with his rehab and holding out hope he can play against the Jets, but Turner will likely end up as a game-time decision at best. New York is defending the run well of late, so Turner wouldn't be a must-start if he's active on Sunday. "The Burner" hasn't been healthy since Week 10.

Turner admitted that he's not quite 100 percent, and he's not out of the woods yet. Both players refused to give odds on their chances of playing in a game that remains a must-win for the Falcons to make the playoffs. We're still expecting the Atlanta duo to be game-time decisions.

Both players will be game-time decisions for Sunday's 1PM ET clash with the Jets. It would probably be smart to explore other options in both cases, whether or not Turner or Ryan is active. Turner goes against a Jets defense that ranks No. 11 against the run and held Bucs starting RB Cadillac Williams to 14 yards on 11 carries last week. Turner also wouldn't be at 100 percent.

Matt Ryan - QB - Falcons With the Falcons eliminated from playoff contention last night by the Cowboys, the Falcons may be more cautious with Matt Ryan (toe) and Michael Turner (ankle) on Sunday.
Coach Mike Smith said on Friday that Saturday night's outcome would have nothing to do with who plays and who doesn't, but one would have to think that it would be easier to let his two stars heal up completely. We'll soon be hearing what Smith and the Falcons plan on doing, as Atlanta takes on the Jets at 1 PM ET. December 20 - 9:41 a.m. ET

Michael Turner - RB - Falcons ESPN's Rachel Nichols reports that Michael Turner (ankle) plans to play on Sunday against the Jets.
Turner will go out for pregame warmups and test his ankle on the snowy field but expects to be good to go. He will face the Jets' No. 11 rush defense at less than 100 percent, so there are better options for your fantasy lineup. December 20 - 10:23 a.m. ET

This is getting ridiculous...........

Michael Turner - RB - Falcons Michael Turner left Sunday's game against the Jets after just one carry.
Turner got the call on the first offensive play of the game and got tripped up at the second level. He didn't stay down on the field, but appears to have aggravated his ankle injury. Turner is now on the sideline bouncing up and down, testing his ankles. It's looking like he could try to come back in the game. December 20 - 1:16 p.m. ET

Michael Turner - RB - Falcons Michael Turner (ankle) missed Falcons practice Wednesday.
It would be very hard to imagine the Falcons trotting Turner out in Week 16 with nothing to play for and risk aggravating his high ankle sprain for a third time. Look for Jason Snelling to dominate carries Sunday versus Buffalo. December 23 - 3:50 p.m. ET

Michael Turner - RB - Falcons Falcons coach Mike Smith provided no update on the status of Michael Turner (high ankle sprain) at his Monday news conference.
Atlanta employed a near-even split with Turner inactive in Week 16, giving starter Jerious Norwood 14 touches compared to Jason Snelling's 16. Snelling came off the bench and racked up more yards. In the rare fantasy leagues that extend into Week 17, Snelling remains the better bet at Tampa Bay should Turner miss another game. We wouldn't bet on seeing him. December 28 - 3:31 p.m. ET
