All 3 of you nailed it. If it's not Cristobal it will be a shock.

He's been at Bama for several years now and has seen what it takes to lead a successful program. Additionally, he got a raw deal at FIU. That place is a death sentence for any coach and why they fired him is a joke.

He needs a commitment from the administration to pay decent salaries to his assistants....and he needs to bring in a solid OC. With the Miami recruiting base, if he can win most of the recruiting battles he'll do fine.

And you finished what I was trying to say.....when I said build a team around him I meant team of Coaches......very important that he can do that.

Many Rumors down here have Charlie Strong taking over the program. Interesting. He's an awesome recruiter and knows the south fla area. He took Bridgewater out of Miami and brought him to Louisville. He's a very good coach (just cant hack it with Texas). Only downfall is that someone from the canes family would work best here (just my opinion).

Sad thing is that these arent the "hurricanes" anymore and not sure when or if they can reach that status fans. Its kinda like how Nebraska is now.

No chance in hell anyone leaves Texas for Miami. Thats crazy talk. And Texas isn't going to fire the guy after only 2 seasons. Delusional fans can bring up these names all they want its not going to happen. The only biggish name they have a chance to hire is butch davis imo. Other than that they are looking at coordinators or small college head coaches. Hell the guy thats the favorite isn't even a coordinator, he is a O line coach. Lets be honest, in todays world Miami is a stepping stone job. The only person that might consider it a dream job is someone that went to school there. Sure, I'll leave Texas making 5 mil large a year to go to a school with crap facilities, no stadium, where they paid the last coach 2.3 mil. Which is what the coach of Purdue makes.

On top of that lets get into assistant salaries. No one really knows what Miami pays their assistants cause its a private school so it isnt public knowledge but lets be honest, schools like LSU, Bama, Clemson, Michigan have a 5 million plus assistant coaching salary pool. Rumor is Miami's OC makes about 500k, which probably means the entire assistant pool is somewhere around 2.5-3 million. Currently Strong's assistant pool at Texas is about 4 million. Long story short is any head coach at Miami won't be able to bring in top end assistants cause the school won't pony up the money for them

Strong denies he has an interest in Miami.
Texas denies they want Strong gone.
Texas denies strong interest in Saban again.

I don't know what's more comical. Strong wanting out of Texas or Texas wanting his ass gone....any southern Florida
school would be fine right now with Charlie or Texas.

Its just funny to me cause I live fairly close to Miami and one of my friends is a huge hurricane fan and he spouts off the same ridiculous shit to me. I'm like come on man, You didn't know who Al Golden was when you hired him and you wont know who the next guy is when they hire someone either cause they aren't going to land any big name. I'd say Greg Schiano is probably the biggest name they might be able to pull.
