You're completely off base

1) Utah CAN pay their coach 10 million if they want to... They chose not to pay their coaches that much.

2) It's standard for teams to look for a new coach before the bowl season... Recruits sign in February... You have to get a coach ASAP. That's just how it is.

Just how it is doesn't MAKE it right automatically. But that's how people think.

To say that a large public school CANT afford to pay $2m a year to a coach is not true.

No state uni would have problems paying a football coach $2million dollars. Not financially anyway. The problem would be with their willingness to pay that price.
