Only two matches in the knock out stage stayed below 2.5 goals. The second was yesterday's 2-0 Bronze medal match between two teams that like to play a tight defensive game.

Neither country has won a gold medal for mens soccer so this is a very historic match. Brazil would love to win and has extra motivation to get the ball rolling ahead of the 2014 WC.
Most of these U23, U21, U19 etc. teams have great offensive talent but are limited on the defensive side of the ball due to lack of experience. A Great soccer defender is like a great wine in that it has to be aged. Most National teams have seasoned veterans on the back four and they are almost all (95% of the time) over the age of 23.
On the offensive side we often see young guns Mesi, Ronaldo, Rooney etc. When these guys were under 23 they were superstar goal scorers. Now in this Olympic final we find Mexico with Giovanni Dos Santos and Over 23 Oribe Peralta.
For Brazil we have Leandro Damiao (top Tourney scorer) and Neymar.
Brazil has netted three goals in every match to date. But they have conceeded goals too.
Mexico has won 4-2 and 3-1 in the knock out stage.
This match will be all about attacking football and I don't expect these soft inexperienced defenses to hold up against the very talented offenses.
The ball is round and anything can happen, but I really like my chances with the over. I found it very hard to cap the side but I was leaning to Mex +1.
