McCain would've been in this race had Romney been chosen. His opinion during these uncertain times would've carried alot more wieght that Sarah's guessing and adlibing. Sarah may have the looks but she sure don't have the brains to make swing voters, and moreso WOMEN SWING VOTERS like Hillary backers feel confident about her. Matter of fact they're embarrassed which is why they came home to Obama weeks ago.

btw, Ayers and Wright only matter to the base now.

I agree with you. He made a monumental blunder here. He actually picked her to pander to people who would have voted for him as soon as they realized a black man was about to take power. (yes i am calling the Palin roused crowd a bunch of ignorant racist bigotted narrow minded fools)

For some to entrust his campaign to this bunch of hoodlums is astouding. These people would readily overlook Rudi. G's cross dressing past, his pro abortion stance in a heart beat as long as he is a white male.

They would quickly forget Romney's mormonism as soon as it dawned on them that a darkie is about to take power.

Case and point, look at the biggest buffoon in the news right now. Joe the plumber. He is a dead beat broke joke who owes back taxes and would be one of the beneficiaries of Obama's tax plan. Same guy who has benefitted from the rich paying higher taxes to make up for a tax dodging fool like him. Yet the guy has the audacity to call Obama a "socialist"

He conveniently forgot that Mccain full heartedly signed on to that 800 billion dollar package that turned Bush into the worst socialist president in history, even Hugo chavez has said the guy is further to the left of him.

The man has conveniently forgotten that its Mccain calling for the socialization of 300 bn worth of failed mortgages.

You know why? It is simple. Mccain is white, Obama is black, simply forget the fact that the black guy's tax plan is more of a benefit to you and pretend that you are geniunely concerned about other people's money (same people you whose taxes you are living off of)

People would have quickly forgiven whatever short comings Romney, Rudie or Huckabee may have had. F@$k even Libermann would have got their vote.

THEY ARE WHITE.. OBAMA IS NOT!

Like it or not, its the cold blooded truth, and Mccain is probably kicking himself because he completely failed to see that the racist vote was his no matter who he selected.

McCain's biggest mistake was not coming out and saying "This bailout plan is bullshit!". The masses would have lined up behind him and he'd have a shot in November. But, he didnt...and now he is dead.

That would of been a huge move by McCain! Especially the one he voted on with all that pork like kids wooden arrows and Virgin Island rum tax breaks. It killed him because he said he would be a guardian against pork and I remember him saying he would goes line by line and cross out the excess pork while holding a pen during the 1st debate. He lost a lot of credibility when he voted yes to the bailout with all the added pork projects.

Lol... If Mccain didnt vote for it, the plan probably wouldnt have been passed at all. Democrats are not that stupid. They would have at least stalled it even further and the market today would be somehwere below 5000. Mccain would be home in Arizona recovering from two massive coronary attacks in the space of a week.

What most people seem to be forgetting after the package failed the first time, the majority of the public was actually clamoring for it to be passed as soon as business started shutting down and laying off people because they couldnt get any loans.

Mccain knew that the package was needed and had to be passed in whatever form.

He was between a rock and hard place, and had no choice.

Alot a good it did him to "postpone" his campaign and head to Washington though. LOL. What'd he endup doing, attend a few meetings for 2 days and all he did was sit and watch? And in the those same meetings, Obama ran the room.

Absolutely nothing in the above post with which I could disagree.

Obama is currently in strong control nationally because though he is a Black Muslim Socialist Pinko Commie (wink), he's preferable to a doddering old white war hawk teamed with a bimbo hick from Alaska who was literally unknown to 98% of Americans prior to Aug 1

Had McCain been wise enough to select Romney, the combination of two white guys - one a grandfatherly "tough" war veteran and the other a younger, charismatic fiscally responsible businessman - would have had little trouble outrunning a smoke from the Chicago south side.

Well not only that, but once the huge "government led bailout" was passed with him being a supposed driving force, he utterly lost all credibility when he then appeared nationally on television faux debates and pledged he was not in favor of "government backed solutions" to America's ills.

Picking her wasn't the blunder. The way they handled her afterwards is the source of the problems. She was rolled out after the convention terribly......she should've been on the conservative radio/fox news...get her warmed up to the national stage....etc

They fucked it up

..and continues to lose credibility day by day. One never knows what McCains agenda will produce as they try to reel in this double digit deficit to Obama. Is it Ayers? Or it's not Ayers? Is it his mortgage buyout or...maybe not? Drill Baby Drill? Dig up Reverend Wright perhaps? Joe "The Middle Class / Obama Beneficiary" Plumber? oh!...there's also Socialism we could try. All the while they try to put out the daily fires Sarah creates.

While Barack carries the same message with his eyes on the finish line, McCain is still working on a new stump strategy.

I don't think he would.. Romney didn't excite the base any more than McCain did. Palin excites the base. Without Palin, GOP's turnout is in the shits.

I agree with this and it is my big problem with the GOP. They have a rotten base.
