How do I Scan for Viruses in DOS?

Check for Viruses Using Scan
FIRST >>> Go to
http://bin.mcafee.com/molbin/iss-loc/vso/cmdscan/dailyscan.zip.
A File Download box appears. Click OK.
Save dailyscan.zip to your Desktop.
Once downloaded, close all windows.
Right-click dailyscan.zip on your desktop.
Click Extract to or double-click the file and click Extract.
In the 'Extract to' field, type C:\SCAN
Click Extract.
Restart the computer.
BELOW IS INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO GET INTO DOS ON THE VARIOUS WINDOWS PLATFORMS, IE, WI 98/2000/XP, ETC. AFTER YOU DOWNLOAD THE ABOVE FILE YOU NEED TO GET INTO DOS, THEN YOU NEED TO FOLLOW THE SCAN INSTRUCTIONS WHILE IN DOS, MAKE SURE YOU PRINT OUT THAT PAGE WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS, VERY IMPORTANT... IF you do get screwed up and hit somthing wrong in DOS just hit the power button on your PC and your computer will boot right back up like normal...
Windows 95/98
Click on the Start button.
Select Shut Down from the menu. The Shut Down Windows window will appear.
Select Shutdown and click OK. Let the computer shut down completely and turn the computer off at the power switch.
Restart the computer, and immediately begin tapping the F8 key every second until the Windows Startup screen appears.
Choose 'Command Prompt' from the list, and hit the ENTER key on the keyboard.
When the computer if finished booting, the c:\> prompt will appear on the screen.
Windows ME
Click on the Start button.
Select Shutdown from the menu. The 'Shutdown Windows' window.
Select Shutdown and click OK. Let the computer shut down completely and turn the computer off at the power switch.
Insert the Windows Millennium Startup Disk and turn on the computer.
A Windows Startup menu will appear. Choose 'Command Prompt' from the list, and hit the ENTER key on the keyboard.
When the computer is finished booting, the c:\> prompt will appear on the screen.
Windows 2000/XP
You can get to a command prompt in Windows 2000 by going into Safe Mode with Command Prompt.
If the computer is on: select Start | Shutdown | Restart.
If the computer is off, turn it on.
When you see the opening splash screen, hold down F8 on the top row of the keyboard or hold down the CTRL key. NOTE: On some computers if you press F8 too soon you'll get a keyboard error if this happens hit the F1 key to continue.
The Windows 2000 (or XP) Advanced Options Menu will come up. Choose Safe Mode with Command Prompt.
Login.
Scan Instructions
Type CD\
Press the Enter key
At the C:\ prompt, type CD SCAN
Press the Enter key.
At the C:\SCAN prompt, type SCAN /ADL /CLEAN /ALL /REPORT REPORT.TXT
Press the Enter key.
Note: The scanner will look at all files on all local drives and attempt to clean the files. An activity report called REPORT.TXT will also be created in the C:\SCAN directory. To view the report in DOS, type REPORT.TXT and press Enter.
Once the scan finishes, exit DOS and restart the computer.
