By what measure? The Stock market? Jobs? The economy in general? I'll take wagers on that..

I think all 3. Once Obama sees the reality of the current situation, and if he appoints good advisers, you are not gonna see the socialist president you expect. Have been wrong before. But I think O is a very bright guy as well as a realist.

Power play will get a lot of customers due to he owns bars and everyone will need a ton of drinks for the next 4 years. Lets hope bush pardon a few skinheads.

I live in a HIGHLY democratic area. This place was BOOMING in the 90's under the Clintons and started going downhill since 2003 (cough cough the war) so the majority of my Customers are Democrats making less than 250 k a year.

Do you know what caused the economic boom? It is the same thing that caused the pending bust that started in 2003-present.. Read about the Community Reinvestment Act, NINJA Loans, and the resulting real estate bubble. The economic growth of the 90's was a house of cards just waiting to crash and that is what we have been seeing from early 2002 to now.. This was not an over night thing.

So why did the market rally on Tuesday? Everybody knew he was going to win. Do ya suppose maybe, just maybe, that the market moves on financial news and not political news? You might have noticed that the last few months have been rather volatile and sharp moves down should hardly be surprising at any time.

TInvestment in America will fall to a level that has never been seen.

Nonsense.

As quickly as the cowards divest various parts of their portfolio, enterprising investors will sweep in to capitalize on the bargain rates. Front end savings will nicely offset any as yet fictional increases in tax margins.

I said I'm giving Obama a chance... and I meant it.

You may be right...its highly debatable what it all means....if anyone can really know.

But its worth considering that the market is nervous about the most radical of possibilities.

This Bush administrations mess will take a couple of years to correct. Obama will get the right group of economy advisors on his team and guide the financial markets out of this mess. Look for a fresh new mental approach to correct this financial chaotic disaster.

Good time to buy !

I think this has been the best point made in this thread. Economic data the last two days has been awful, leading to huge declines in stocks etc. Tuesday's rally had little to do with the election as well. If anything, trade volume was probably down instead as people eagerly awaited a winner. The market "priced in" an Obama win over the last few months and I think everyone saw this as inevitbale. Its like when everyone knows there is going to be a federal rate cut, crosses with the usd price it in well before it happens. Volatility has simply never been this extreme, which I think is a big reason why people are paying so much attention to it. I would bet that the market recovers by next Friday at the latest, with less volatility over that time. I've been wrong plenty of times before, but this is how I see it right now.

Hmmmm, everybody who disagrees with you is stupid. Such an enlightened attitude, it's no wonder that you're able to convince lots of others to see your point of view...:nohead::think2::lol::missingte:lolBIG::tongue2:

If you took the average IQ of that 53% and then tested mine I would bet my life on it...
