I don't know. If Gordon has a huge 200+ yd performance I don't know how you can't vote for him. Already has the Big-10 single season record. This would put him up there with Marcus Allen and Barry Sanders. Gonna be a tough call. Mariota is obviously the public fave.

I know Mariota and told him straight I didn't want him to win heisman. It's a curse in my opinion..

It would be a pretty nice "curse" to have around his neck.....Besides, life goes on after football and a Heisman Trophy has a long shelf-life in the real world for the winner. It would be interesting to know what % of past winners made it "big" in the NFL????

A lot of similarities between Kaep and MM but the most glaring trait to me is that MM is his personality. Leader on the field but and doesn't seem to care about what'd going outside of football. Don't think he has any social media outlets and commentators mentioned it last night that he and his family turned down any HeIsman trophy campaign before the season. The kid to me just seems sharp, willing to learn and the want to be great. We will see how it translates in the NFL but I know I'll be a fan of his. Interesting to see if my raiders get #1, do we go after him? I wouldn't want to pass on him...

Here are the teams in the running for the #1 pick in the draft:

Jacksonville (2 wins). They have their QB of the future in Bortles.

N.Y. Jets (2 wins). Who knows what the Jets will do? Who knows who their HC will be? This is a sad franchise.

Oakland (1 win). They have Carr starting and he is doing a good enough job to allow the Raiders to look elsewhere.

Tampa Bay (2 wins). They have a huge need for a good QB, but who knows what Lovie will do.

Tennessee (2 wins). How long do they go with the injury prone Locker?

Washington could jump into the picture if they trade RGIII, but most say that he is worth a 3rd rounder at best. Tennessee hosts the Jets on the 14th and the winner of that game is basically eliminated from the QB race.

The thing that is so impressive about Melvin Gordon is he is averaging 8.0 yards per carry. That is absolutely crazy. If the coaches wanted he could have 3,000 yards this year. But they have a stud backup that will also be in the pros one day. Hard to deny Gordon's accomplishments. But it was Mariotas to lose before the season even started.
