March Madness 2020 has been hit with the ultimate upset.
The NCAA tournament for men’s and women’s basketball has been canceled, the NCAA announced Thursday, as concerns over the spread of coronavirus continued to rise across the country.
The NCAA was slow in making its decision. It announced Wednesday that it would play the tournament without any fans after Ohio and Washington — states that were set to host first and second-round games — had announced a ban of large gatherings. Since then, the NBA, NHL, MLB and MLS all suspended their seasons and every conference basketball tournament was canceled.

My question is why NCAA waited until today? Nba doing it should have been all they needed. Goes to show what the most corrupt sport is in all of sports....anything with NCAA in it.

Sucks for the Mid Majors as they had the best chance of a Title as any year ever.

Dayton looks phenomenal, only thing that was standing in their way may have been Mark Few finally gets his, that Offense is on another level...

Today, NCAA President Mark Emmert and the Board of Governors canceled the Division I men’s and women’s 2020 basketball tournaments, as well as all remaining winter and spring NCAA championships. This decision is based on the evolving COVID-19 public health threat, our ability to ensure the events do not contribute to spread of the pandemic, and the impracticality of hosting such events at any time during this academic year given ongoing decisions by other entities.

I'm sorry, but we live in a world of real pussies right now. MLB finally got it right for the draft to be held at Omaha. Perfect timing so that it would not be held during regionals and on the biggest venue for College baseball. They have now canceled the CWS 3 months ahead of time. It is held outdoors and temps are usually anywhere from 70-100 degrees. I don't think it would be a real issue and why not wait a month or two and see what happens. They have still not officially canceled the regular season, just suspended until April 1st. I've already been texting my summer boys are they and their teams are not happy

The revenue lost for this cancellation is around $1 billion dollars according to Jay Bilas when you take into account TV, the NCAA, the venues, concessions. Simply staggering. I don't even know if that figure isn't even right. How about the revenue it brings to Las Vegas in the form of hotel rooms, food, entertainment. How about all the pizza that is sold from from Pizza Hut, Domino's, local pizza restaurants. Food chains like Applebee's, Buffalo Wild Wings. I can go on and on. It all trickles down and effects the economy in this country. It might take years and years to recover from all this. It's not the financial crisis from 2008-2009 where the government bailed out the banks and injected money into the system. This is impacting everything.
