Good news - The dog has been found alive. She is not able to walk properly. She is with us now. Will be under treatment. What breaks my heart is that she was still wagging her tail.

He stated that the pup was unable to walk and was presently receiving medical attention. He posted the image and said 'What breaks my heart was that she was still wagging her tail.'
The pup was thrown off a Chennai roof by two medical students who are currently on the run.
A Twitter user posted a video of the dog which survived the terrifying fall. He also says that they have named the pooch 'Bhadra'.

n the Facebook post where he attached a copy of the FIR, he added that the Chairman of the college has given an ultimatum to the parents of the culprits that if they fail to surrender, they will not be allowed to appear for the exams. He says, "the suspects parents have promised to bring them in tonight."
In another post he mentions the names of the two men involved in the atrocious act, Gautam Sudharshan who flung the dog off while happily posing for the camera and Ashish Paul who heartlessly filmed the entire incident.

We have verified information from a reliable source that the 2 suspects are from Madha Medical college, Kundrathur. The names are Gautam Sudharshan and Ashish Pal doing their finally year MBBS. Chennai police have been 100 percent supportive and we are in the process to get them arrested.
Thank you Shravan krishnan,Antony Rubin and pound team for making this happen

Was wondering the same. Nowadays you have to be skeptical with so many people who will con for money.

You have to watch that Justin Cruise guy.....He`ll never make it as a news reporter.

</section><arttextxml>Chennai: Cats have the proverbial nine lives, but this dog seems to have got a fourth lease of life in a little more than six months of her existence. On Tuesday night, animal welfare activists, tipped off by cops, traced the dog nearly two weeks after she was flung off a terrace by two medical students.

She has now been named Bhadra, which in Tamil means 'safe' and in Sanskrit, the blessed one, as she has not only survived multiple the Chennai deluge. "The mother, along with three pups, took shelter in our apartment complex," said a resident of Kundrathur where the litter was first seen. "People took pity on them and sheltered and fed them," she said.

Around February this year, the pups fell into a ditch and two of them died. But, Bhadra survived. She had her third brush with mortality
when she was recently attacked by other stray dogs. Wounded, she somehow escaped. Two weeks ago, when the two medicos decided to throw Bhadra down the terrace of a three-storey building "just for fun", fortune smiled on her. "The way the man flung her might have aided Bhadra's miraculous escape. He picked her by the coat and dropped her straight down, so there was a higher chance that she would land on her feet," said Dr R Jayaprakash, who examined Bhadra on Wednesday .

"Since she is around six months old, her bones are flexible. During growth, the phosphorus and calcium levels in bones are low," he said. Landing on the grass also cushioned the fall.

Bhadra, however, has two fractures: on the spine and the femur of the right hind leg. Nestled in the arms of animal rights activist Jennifer Jacob, she was quiet, letting out a yelp only when her injured leg was examined. "She is still in shock but will come out of it quickly as she is young," said Dr Jayaprakash. "The fractures will take three to four weeks to heal."

Since the injuries are consistent with such a fall, activists believe that Bhadra is the same puppy seen in the video.

Bhadra will be fostered by Jennifer till she finds a permanent home. "We have received a lot of calls from people keen on adopting her, but we will do a background check before giving her away," said Jennifer.

Medicos in dog video held, get bail

The two students of Chennai's Madha Medical College involved in throwing a dog from the rooftop of a building were arrested and let out on bail on Wednesday, police said. According to police, Gautam Sudarshan and Ashish Paul were produced before them by their parents. On being arrested the duo were granted bail by a court.
