Heinz Kerry's Halloween: Trick-or-Treaters Get Ketchup

When kids in Boston go out trick-or-treating on Halloween, hoping to collect such holiday favorites as Snickers Bars, Milky Ways or other confectionary delights, there's one house they know to avoid.

While other residents dole out the more traditional Halloween fare, Teresa Heinz Kerry likes to surprise the costumed visitors to her Beacon Hill mansion with foil packages of Heinz ketchup.

Story Continues Below

In yesterday's Washington Post, reporter Ceci Connolly did her best to spin Heinz Kerry's cheesy stunt, claiming that the kiddies were "thrilled" when they were handed Teresa's Halloween booby prizes because her ketchup treats "made for perfect fake blood."

As usual senditin has no clue about what he is talking about. I have NEVER cut and pasted a single article from Al Jazeera.com here at the Rx (or anywhere else). The NY Times, CBS.com, Wash. Post. even move-on.org (a few) and some UK web-sites yes I have used them, but any news sources from the middle East I purposely avoid. I do understand how easily amused you guys are though, and quite frankly could care less.

Could there be anything less relevant to the political forum than this thread?

So the right wing rationale is something like this: Vote for George Bush cause his wife Laura, who killed a man in a car by running a stop sign is better than voting for John Kerry's wife cause she hands out ketchup at Halloween. Another great example of why Kerry is out of touch with the mainstream.

Pat, you had some good posts the other day about Sandy Berger, but like they say on the courts, if you're going to the hole, bring it strong or leave it at home. This is some weak shvt.

Sometimes I wonder why Kerry can't get his a$$ in gear and take a huge lead but when I read this and other forums it's easy to see that this nation is divided by party and not by issues.

Someone posts a story about someone being cheap and/or unprepared for a holiday and immediately the claws come out.

The same can be said when a similar article bashing the other side makes it's way here.

If he's trying to harvest votes by this "shocking" article then Michael Moore is guilty of a similar tactic. Showing Bandar Bush's government administering a public execution of a criminal and Britney Spear's throwing her support behind the President. It's the same damn thing.

The whole point of this is that the Kerry frauds are a bunch of cheap bastards.

2 different years in the 90's John fraud Kerry donated 0 thats right zero dollars to charity.

This from the richest ticket in the history of the US.
Did you notice him yesterday para sailing off of Nantucket...how many kids from Harlem did he bring with him?
Oh by the way how many blacks are involved in his campaign?
The Bushes have contributed more to this country than that oppurtunist cocksuker ever has or will.
Did you know Kerry made 15 k from his halliburton stock?

I figured that you saw it on the news just as I did. I didn't take into account that you might have confused para-sailing with kite sailing. My bad. It was only a friendly correction.

If Kerry does in fact donate nothing to charitable causes,I find this inexcusable. Those with excess should do all in thier powers to help those less fortunate.I still won't vote for Bush, but this leaves me with little respect for Kerry.

Understatement of the year, right there.

Has partisanship always been this bad or has the Bush/Clinton/Bush dichotomy ruffled too many feathers?

The GOP Hate Machine knows it has to be totally negative to depress turnout generally and get its crazy religious zealots to turn out only. You don't think they think they can win on Iraq or the shambles they have made out of the economy or foriegn policy in general?

To an extent, it has existed as an identifier of your basic ideology. This national election and the last one seem to have separated everyone and I don't know why. Clinton/Dole in '96, I knew Dole wasn't the answer so that's why I considered Clinton the lesser of two evils since he was the devil that I knew.

Bulldog and Patriot's posts say it all. You have one person saying that the GOP is manipulating everyone except it's own to stay home. I feel sorry if that is true because to be influenced to that degree is nothing short of weakness. I see polls that say 63% think that the Iraq war is a mistake yet it's still a statistical dead heat.
icon_confused.gif
One of these 3rd party candidates that happens to be anti-war should be polling in the teens but no because people don't want to waste their votes.

Patriot,

Surely you don't believe it's sour grapes? If they're still focused on that and not on the election at hand someone should wake them up so they can smell the coffee.
