Interesting angles, been reading to see what comes up here. If I am guessing the actual line I think -7 would split the action. I don't think the betting public is sold on OU and doesn't want to get burned again like last year. SC backers are big money and the line has to take that into account. I think talentwise -7 is about exactly where it should be. Books will be careful with such a big game and will err to the side of caution, which means shading the chalk. I don't think they want to open it at 6 and watch it banged up to 7 and then have the game end up being SC by 7. I don't think this SC team is close in talent to last year's, but neither is OU. I think Auburn is the best of the three right now, but this is the system we live under.

Disregarding any serious and notable injuries or suspensions, I can assure you 100% that USC will be more than a -3 favorite.

Again, will stick with my -6 number and feel confident......with a shade towards -5.5 over -6.5

Well i do value your opinion but, if they make USC a favorite of 6 like you think it will be....Sure west coast $$ on USC, but +6 will surely get the rest of the country....I am not so sure that the line maker has even got the Right Favorite here...Just like USC getting free pass to that #1 ranking all year...As in most things time will tell, and i will surely be +6 for something nice.

As we all see the # is up an running at 3 and 55.5....As in my first line makeing attempt of USC 2.5 and 54.5, hmmmmm pruddy close uh?
