Zappe was 2-0 in starts last year, the offense looked great. Yet they (he) still rushed Mac Jones back early so he can fuck things up
I'm sure Zappe can do better by default at this point since Mac seems wrecked but this is a garbage offensive roster, too many mistakes to even list over the last 5 years. It is a new scapegoat every year from Cam to Patricia to Mac. You don't get outscored 72-3 in 2 NFL games because of one guy.
I do think BB probably just thinks Zappe sucks though. Sees him everyday in practice, preseason, saw him get owned by the Bears in what was his defacto 3rd start, cut him. He just knows once he goes to this guy, it is basically waiving the flag on the season anyway.

I think he lost the team because they're discouraged by the QB giving scores to other teams. He's can't be called a game manager, he's the opposite of that.

Zappe looked great against the two worst defenses the Patriots played last year. Every other time he's been in the game he's looked awful. IMO if the answer isn't Jones they have to find someone not on the roster... getting a good, healthy offensive line and receivers who can get seperation would help a lot too.

The only defense I will give Zappe at this point; he looked good when he practiced with the first team and started. He looks bad in mop up roles

They probably have the worst receivers in the league besides maybe the Giants. It is like they are mashing buttons in deciding who to get. Even a lot of the other bad offenses are finding receivers in the draft.
Tyquan Thornton is always hurt but he had a 4th rd draft grade and they take him rd 2, the Steelers took George Pickens 3 picks after him. Nkeal Harry was taken 1st rd and a ton of guys went after him. They just keep striking out.
Davante Parker got traded in division, that is how little Miami thought of him. You don't see that happen very often. He crushed the Pats in the last game of 2019 so I guess they figured make a deal for him. .
Juju was a FA the last 2 years and had to settle for 1 year deals, he couldn't even light it up with Mahomes. They get rid of Meyers and bring him in, I think he'll probably be out of the NFL soon. This 1 is especially weird because NE had chances to sign him the last 2 offseasons and chose to get other guys so that just seems like mashing buttons to bring him in now.
Mac may be broken and he's been bad for a good 25 games now but 9ers, Dolphins, Ravens, Eagles, Bills, Bengals, Jags, Lions...All these teams went out and got their young QB's the weapons to give them a chance to win. This is where BB has really failed.
