Went out and got some lunch, stopped by the casino to check out where the poker would be going down tomorrow. Small little casino, 2 floors with slots on top and some table games on the main floor.
Sat down and played some blackjack, got up $120 tipped the dealer a dub and walked away up 100.
Luckily the TV here has American stations so going to watch a little college foots and chill out for a bit, will probably go poke around and see if there are any decent cash games going after dinner.
I play at 3pm tomorrow.

Went back to the blackjack table, got raped for 300.
Sat back down, won 200 of it back to bring me even for the day.
Tonight they had a satellite, 112 people top 10 got entry into the main tourney. Went to watch that and at least 15 cash games broke out in the area set up for tomorrow's tournament. Most NLHE, some PLO, all different buy-ins. Played 1/3 NLHE for about 4 hours.
I'm usually not a cash game guy, I prefer tournies, but wanted to get some extra live play under my belt. 3 monster pots come to mind:
Had A8s on the button, cutoff raises to 12, I call along with the BB. Flop A98 rainbow, big blind bets 20, cutoff raises to 40, I call, big blind folds. At this point I am putting him on AQ or AK. Turn comes a 3, he bets 100, I shove 300 more. He tanks for like 5 minutes and folds.
That put me up a couple hundred.
Few hands later table maniac raises UTG and I call in the BB with J8s. Flop Q J 5 I check he checks behind. Turn 2 I check he bets 40 I call. River another Q I check he bets like 80, I tank and while I'm thinking he says "I have Q8, I promise". I didn't believe he would have checked top pair on the flop so I called and that's exactly what he had. Put me back about even.
About an hour later the game is getting pretty aggro and I get on a run of cards, never have to show down any hands but take down several pots preflop by 3 betting with AK, AJs, etc. Then I'm in the BB and button raises to 20 and SB calls. I look down at QQ, raise it 30 more and they both call. Flop was 3 rags checks to me I bet 60 and the button calls. K on turn it went check check, blank on river I checked he took a $70 stab at it I snapped him off and he had trash.
Then the last hand of the night I lost about 100 back, I have ATo in the BB, UTG (maniac) raises and everyone calls so I flat. 10-high flop I check he bets I make a substantial raise, he calls (now it's just him and me). Turn is a king I bet out 50 he pushes all in. No way I can call 300 more with 2nd pair so I fold and he flips over 7 9, total bluff. Oh well.
I'm happy with the way I played, I'm up a couple hundred for the trip. Now going to bed and get rested for the tourney tomorrow.

Nice job...getting those reps in before the tourney is nice....but don't let the cash game play affect your tourney play....people play much diff when it is their tourney life....cash games you can easily reload. Many will adjust their style (you included)

I will definitely be playing in something else.
Tomorrow they have another day 1 I could buy into for $850, a $200 turbo during the afternoon, and an $85 satellite to the main again at 10pm (would play in day 1 again Tuesday).
Will probably play the turbo and if I do well in that, buy into day 1 again Tuesday. If I bust out of the turbo early I'll play the satellite. Either way I'm going to try to give it one more crack.
