Rudy Giuliani received a judicial smackdown late last week after he told a judge that he's short on money and that's why he's holding up discovery in the libel case that he's facing from two election workers in Georgia. The judge wasn't buying that excuse at all, and the judge told Giuliani that he would have to hand over all of his financial documents to prove that he's as destitute as he claims. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what happened.

Late last week, Rudy Giuliani really got into it with the judge overseeing the libel lawsuit that Giuliani has been hit with by those two Georgia election workers that had been slandered to Hellen back by multiple different figures on the right. Uh, these two women, Ruby Freeman and Shay Moss actually have already settled their libel lawsuit with one American News. So they've already proven that, yeah, we've got the goods we can make you pay, we can make you hurt. And one America was like, yep, that's right. We're gonna, we're gonna pay you, we're gonna be done with it. Rudy Giuliani hasn't done that. And the judge overseeing the case, judge Bar Howell's getting kind of off and let Rudy Giuliani know that this past Friday during a three hour hearing, Giuliani was offering up excuses because the judge is mad that Giuliani has essentially been dragging his feet during the discovery process. He's not turning over the documents, he's not turning over the electronic communications, he's not doing the things that he has had months and months and months to do. And part of the reason is because Giuliani says, listen, this stuff is expensive. It costs a lot of money. I don't have the money for this stuff at the moment. You gotta gimme time. And that's when Judge Barrow Howell just kinda lost it. I mean, Rudy Giuliani is a net worth of, uh, according to estimates, anywhere between 40 and $45 million. He's not destitute, okay? When it comes to document production, Rudy Giuliani should have money for that. And that's exactly what the judge thinks. So now the judge has ordered Rudy Giuliani, all right, you now have to turn over all of your financial records to me and this court. We're gonna get to the bottom of what the hell is going on with your finances. So now I'm giving you another thing that you have to go and find and turn over as part of this lawsuit. I want your bank statements, I want your tax records. Give me all of that so I can actually see if you are in fact struggling with money that may be holding up this document production. And then Giuliani tried to offer up another excuse after the judge kind of put him in his place on that. He's like, aha, but Judge, listen to this one now, since clearly you're calling me out on the money thing, how about, uh, my electronic devices were confiscated as I was being investigated by the feds? Yeah, how about that one? The judge wasn't buying that either, because even though Giuliani's devices were in fact confiscated by those investigators, that was so long ago, and that information was in fact preserved that getting the information should not be a problem whatsoever. In fact, since that investigation resulted in no criminal charges, Giuliani would have been given his electronic devices back. So I don't know where you thought that argument was gonna go, Rudy, but. But the judge was like that. You, you have the things now though. Like just because your cell phone was confiscated up until what, like six months ago? Like, okay, you've had it for plenty of time. Give us the info, give us the info from your computers. But Giuliani just simply doesn't want to do it. He wants to drag this thing out. He wants to slow it down a little bit. And uh, I think we all know the reason why Ruby Freeman and Shay Moss have been dragged through the mud by those on the right and they have a very strong and compelling libel lawsuit pending against Rudy Giuliani.
