Heres a story to ponder on.

A friend of mine is one of the biggest squares you'll know and was in credit card hell all from getting cash advances to pay his bookies.

He was single mind you and hopelessly addicted to action, still is.

So he's looking for a big score that will get him out of debt and he thought he found it with Fla. St. the Charlie Ward team.

Seminoles are ranked number one going in to South Bend minus 7 and he says they look like an NFL team.

He took out cash advances flew to Reno plopped down like 25k Noles minus 7.

We all know the rest and for you young ins you can guess the rest.

The first time he picked up his pay check and saw a garnishment he filed chapter 11.

Let this story be a lesson to whom it may concern!

Take the Bengals tomorrow night. Double digit dogs are 16-1 so far this season. At least you have the odds on your side. Bengals have been competitive lately.

The worst part about all of this is everyone here (including yourself bob) knows you won't quit even if you do get lucky and win this one bet. That's why you shouldn't make the bet. You'll be back for more and eventually lose it all anyway. Walk away while you still can brother. Right now you're UP $50,000.

I have a feeling that he is wearing ruby red lipstick and has painted his toenails all the while saving up on sleeping pills to use if this pick loses.

Have some compassion fellas. The guy sounds desperate and needs help.

One of the things I've always liked about this forum is that nobody holds back with their opinion. Some of the things are tough to hear but you guys are pretty much correct in everything you've said.

SaltyVeteran- You're right. I'll never quit gambling. I'll go back to normal betting amounts but I'll still bet sports. It's the only thing in my life that's ever made me happy. I know that's very sad but it's true. I've always loved the rush and excitement whether I was betting marbles as a kid or money as I am now.

Racer X- You're pretty much correct. About 15K is mine free and clear and the other 35K is a combination of credit card cash advances and signature loans from high vig loan companies. Yes, I know I'm a sick fuck but I'm living day to day and the vig on this stuff is steep. I'm taking a shot because I can't live the way I am now. I know that's a very twisted way to think but I've made the decision to do this.

I appreciate everyones input. I have a lot of respect for this forum and the people on it. Even the people I agree to disagree with, I still like to hear their opinions. I would certainly like to hear more picks and analysis.

part of you wants to lose every cent you have so you can be relieved it's over. try to be a man and exercise some will power. whatever situation you are in will be way worse if you lose that 50 G. maybe you can invest it somewhere and in the meantime get a second job and work off your debt. i bet more than i should sometimes, im a high risk high reward kind of guy too but what you are doing is insane. it would help us understand your situation better if you gave us some details on what the deal is. i like the idea of that other guy, something about bet 25 G on a 2 game parlay with heavy favorites in the NFL this Sunday. At least that gives you a good chance to win, and if there is an upset, you have 25 G to have one more go at it.

also, you never commented on my comment about you having any dependants. do you? are you married? if you are single, i guess go for it, although i'd say think it over a hundred times, you will wish you had that 50 G back if you lose it. if you have dependants or are married, shame on you, and i mean that.

again..this Sunday..if you have to..tampa bay moneyline parlayed with dallas cowboys. i guarantee you will hit. if you have to put 50 G on something, put it on that..and for God's sakes..DON'T use a college game to go all in. college ball is unpredictable with way more huge upsets and crazy shit.

I've been a part of this wonderful forum for quite some time and I've enjoyed it so much but I'm at a spot in my life where I have to send it "all in". I've put together $50,000 and I've got to make a score with that. I've been a gambler my whole life and this forum has some of the sharpest bettors I've come across.

Guys, I'm looking for one play. A side or a total. I'm sending it in. One shot and it's my last shot, literally. I know that sounds desperate and that's because I am. I won't even try to sugar coat things. I'm in a bind and I've got to send it in.

I'd like your best play of the weekend with some good analysis behind it. It can be pro or college football. A side or a total. In between my offshore accounts and the sportsbooks here in Las Vegas, I'll be able to get it all down. Am I crazy? Absolutely, but I'm taking a shot and I would appreciate one rock solid play from the members or the world's best gambling forum. Thanks all.

Where's the guilt in winning 45K?

I think he is nuts, and I think he is serious.

Move the hell out of Vegas......

I can't talk, cause if I lived there, I would be posting the same question! :toast:

Whatever you do, good luck.

Lets here the story
I'm really curious to know why you have to take such a risk. Why do you have a need to make 45K this week? Don't make the bet, because even if you win, you will have to live with the guilt for the rest of your life, that you risked everything on one play and were willing to suffer the consequences had it lost.

Curious, what will you do if you lose?

You know if you win, it could be 2 weeks or a year...doesnt matter, you will be right back in this same situation.

Get some help, life can get better

I want to know where soccerbob is planning on laying down 50k.

I mean what shop is going to take such large action this day and age?

The story I told of my friend and Fla St. and 25k was in 1992 and he flew to Nevada and was going to spread it out but the Hilton took it all as was tied in and back then nobody flinched an eyebrow.

Inquiring minds need to know.

Titans minus the points vs Jets. Titans have not put a full game together, yet. Titans coming off their best 2 passing games 500+ yds and 5tds for Collins. Titans have been running great prior to the last 2 games when defenses stacked the line and forced Collins to the air, he responded. I won't even get into the light's out Titan defense. I just want to say Farve vs the Titans D equals Turnovers galore with a Defensive TD thrown in for good measure. Jets last 6 opponents Cincy, Oakland, Kansas City, Buffalo St Lou and New England (who by the way had a Qb that had not started since the 6th grade, throw for 400 yds on them).

Nobody believes in Tenn so much, that this pissed off and disrespected bunch have chip on their shoulder that take out on their opponents every Sunday. Lastly they lead the league in Turnover ratio.

With your winnings pay back the credit cars, buy yourself a nice dinner and your parents a nice present. With what is left over Short the Stock market using an ETF index. Market appears headed to 6000 over the next year.

Good Luck

I wouldn't do it.

Obviously you are not that lucky of a person to be in this position to begin with. What makes you think you will win this bet no matter who you take?
