Crazy.....been going to this joint for 10 years, but its been about a year since last visit.

Guy brings me chips and they are obviously burnt ...not sure why you would even serve them to a customer.

The hostess stops by and I ask her for some good chips.....she takes those, dumps them in trash, where they should have gone the first time
and returns with a slightly less burned version and tells me this is all they have.

Had to leave.

Your line should be "I'm sorry but I did not order burnt chips".

lol.. "ok, gracias, ciao"
Yep....just with a tad more attitude though....hahaha

I was mostly just flabergasted when she told me "This is ALL we have" ......like some kind of Bizzaro World Mexican restaurant where burnt is delicious.
Its not like I came at the last minute for lunch, still over 1.5 hrs on the clock

I asked, "Cant you make a batch and just cook them for a little less time?"
"Sorry, This is ALL we have"

Lots have changed since my last visit.

Ill try them again before the year is over as they have been my goto Mexican joint for so long, best prices and generally high quality.
I will let it slide moving forward and just chalk it up to a bad day if things are back to normal next time else they go on the permanent DO NOT PATRONIZE list.

You're a good person for giving them another chance. In this present time, you can ruin them easily by uploading burnt chips to any social media platform.

Yeah , I aint gonna do that to a place that I want to stay around.....I just want some fking non burnt chips....lol

But you are correct about the reviews.....there is NO WAY that I eat at an unknown restaurant if I read a review and saw a picture of my experience on a Yelp for example.

fuckn good batch of chips and salsa is the appetizer. That sets the tone for the rest of the meal. Covid knocked out my best Mexican joint. Chips and salsa was the real deal. Every meal was served hot..

A few weeks ago I went to the worst Mexican restaurant of my life .

They bring out the chips and salsa

I dip a chip in the salsa and the salsa was scorching hot .
It burnt my tongue and ruined the entire meal .

Not only was it scorching hot it was awful

It tasted like they took a bottle of prego and microwaved it for a half hour.

Who TF ever heard of heating up salsa? And the chips were stale .

I ordered the “grilled” stuffed jalapeño peppers for an app

These things were pre breaded like the kind you see in the frozen section at a grocery store

They were not intended to be grilled . They were made to be fried .

So they took these pre breaded peppers that were supposed to be fried and probably put them in the oven for a few minutes and called it a day .

think of buying something ar the grocery store that is pre breaded and Intended to be fried and baking it in the oven .

This is how bad they were .

Then I took one sip of my margarita and it tasted like the cheapest premade margarita mix you can find at the grocery store

At this point I called it a day . I was not alone .
It was not my choice to eat here .

I did not order a main course

I ate exactly one chip with salsa , one bite of the “grilled peppers , and one sip of the margarita .

Then I went home and ate a real meal .

Kinda glad it was not good . Mexican food full of carbs and shit I try to avoid. Probably +even in the long run it sucked
