Support the Troops! 100+ Rallies Planned Coast to Coast

Rallies across America are continuing so citizens can show the troops fighting in Operation Iraqi Freedom that you support them. Tens of thousands of patriots have attended so far. Find the rally closest to you on the list below, or start your own.

Even if you think the war is a bad idea, please support the men and women who are risking their lives. Fox News Channel has reported that the media-adored appeasement demonstrations have discouraged the troops in Iraq. Don't give aid and comfort to dictator Saddam Hussein and his torturers.

Toronto: Rally for America, noon Friday, April 4, Nathan Phillips Square. "We've heard from the protesters, critics and our government. NEW ENGLAND

Brunswick, Maine: "Support our Troops" rallies from 4 to 5 p.m. every Saturday, rain or shine. Maine Street, by the gazebo.

Exeter, N.H.: Rally to Support Our Troops, 5 to 6 p.m. Friday, April 4, by the Town Hall and the bandstand. "Bring your flags and signs."

Nashua, N.H.: Rally to support the troops, noon Saturday, April 5, in front of City Hall.

Portsmouth, N.H.: Rally for America at 1 p.m. every Saturday at Market Square, in front of the old church. Sponsored by Live Free or Die. "This is not a pro-war rally, no one wants war, but we want to counter the people who are actively undermining our troops' morale. Please come with appropriate signs, banners and flags."

Waltham, Mass.: Rally to support the troops, 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 7, rain or shine, on steps of City Hall. Sponsored by the Mayor's Office and the Veterans Services Department. Call 781-314-3312 for more information.

Medford, Mass.: Rally to support the troops, every Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to noon, in Medford Square. "Bring your flags and signs! Take Route 93 to Exit No. 32, off the highway to in the direction of Medford and you can't miss us."

Kingston, Mass.: Support Our Troops rally, 6:30 p.m. Sunday, April 6, Kingston Green.

Worcester, Mass.: Rally in support of our troops, 10 a.m. to noon Sunday, April 6 on the Common at City Hall. "It is in honor of a local soldier, Anthony A. Fantasia Jr., who is bravely serving our country. Come show the support of Central Massachusetts for our brave men and women who are putting it all on the line to protect us from tyranny and terrorism."
Directions from east or west: Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) to exit 10. Take I-290 eastbound to exit 13 (Kelly Square). Take left off exit. You will come into Kelly Square. Take a right by Hess Gas. Follow to the light and take a short left (NOT a sharp left) onto Franklin Street. You will come to a light and see Worcester Common just to your right, behind City Hall.

From the north: Take I-190 south to I-290 west or I-495 south to I-290 west, depending on where you are coming from. Get off at exit 13 but take a right. Follow directions above.

From the south: 1-395 north or 146 north, depending on where you are coming from. If you are coming up 1-395, it will turn into I-290 east. Follow directions above from the Mass Pike. If you are coming up 146, it ends at I-290 east. Get on the ramp and get off first exit (13). Take a left, then follow directions above from exit.


Hartford, Conn.: Support the Troops Rally, 3 p.m. to Saturday, April 5, in Bushnell Park. New Life Church in cooperation with the American Legion, the Marine Corps League, the Antique Veterans Association, along with the support of Gov. John Rowland, state Sen. Thomas Gaffey and Reps. Cornwall, N.Y.: Support the Troops, noon Saturday, April 5, Cheydenne Traffic Circle, Main Street.

Norwich, N.Y.: Rally to Support Our Troops, every Saturday from noon to 1 p.m., East Side Park, state Highway 12 in the center of town. "We hold this rally rain or shine. Bring your American flag and come show your support for friends and family now stationed in the military. Many people are bringing pictures of their loved ones to hold on display."

Warwick, N.Y.: Support the Troops/Support the President Rally, 1 p.m. Saturday, April 5, in old Grand Union parking lot, Main St and South St. Sponsored by Firefighters for the Troops.

Long Island, N.Y.: "Support the Troops, Rally for Freedom" at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 6. State Supreme Courthouse on County Seat Drive in Mineola. Sponsored by Nassau County Young Republicans.

New York City: Three events are scheduled. Queens: Support Our Troops - Support Our President - God Bless America Rally, 1 p.m. Saturday, April 5, George Seuffert Bandshell, Forest Park. Brooklyn: Pro-America rally, 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 6, in John Paul Jones Park, 4th Ave. and 101st. Manhattan: "Pray In" at 3:30 p.m. Monday, April 7, in the middle of Times Square. Christian Defense Coalition plans to "kneel down in prayer in the middle of Broadway to pray for troops, our leaders, freedom for the Iraqi people, spiritual awakening for America's youth and stand in solidarity with the thousands brutalized by Saddam's regime."

Jersey City, N.J.: Rally for the troops at noon Saturday, April 5, at Liberty State Park, north lawn of the Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal.

Montclair, N.J.: "Rally for Our Troops," 3 to 6 p.m. every Friday until the war ends, at Bloomfield Ave. and Church St. Sponsored by FreeRepublic and VFW Post 6255 in Cedar Grove.

Clifton, N.J.: Rally in Support of Our Armed Forces," 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 6. Municipal Complex, 900 Clifton Ave. "A non-political event; all are welcome. Memorial service, prayer, tribute to our flag. Bring the children. Bring a lawn chair." Sponsored by the Lipari Family Foundation. Clifton League of Flags will participate.

Morristown, N.J.: Pro-troops rally at 6 p.m. Sunday, April 6, on the Morristown Green. Sponsored by the Morris Township and Morristown Veterans Organization.

Westwood, N.J.: Support Our Troops Rally at 6 p.m. every Sunday at Memorial Park, near the train station. Many hundreds of people have showed up even in the rain and snow. "Bring your flags, candles, signs, and wear your Red, White and Blue!"

Mercer County, N.J.: Rally for Our Troops from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (another source says starting at noon), Saturday, April 5, at Mercer County Park, West Windsor.

Fieldsboro, N.J.: A protest against the Borough Council's ban on patriotic displays on "public" property is scheduled for noon Saturday, April 5, news wires reported. The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that "in an act of clear defiance, townspeople had affixed yellow bows to every public place imaginable."

Pittsburgh area: Support Our Troops Rally, 6 p.m. Monday, April 7, Quay Park in Beaver, Pa., 23 miles north of Pittsburgh. Sponsored by Vietnam Veterans of America, local Chapter 862.

Philadelphia: Support Our Troops! We the People - Rally for America, 2 p.m. Saturday, April 12, Dilworth Plaza, City Hall.

Washington: Here is an unrelated rally, against another tyrant, that is worth including. Protest from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, April 4, across the Cuba Interest Section, 16th Street N.W. Protest against Castro's harsh new crackdown on dissidents.

Washington: Rally for the Troops, Rally for America. Noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at the Ellipse on Constitution Avenue, across from White House. Scheduled hosts: G. Gordon Liddy, Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham and others. Sponsored by Citizens United Foundation and Young America's Foundation.
"We will also be accepting donations for the troops. If you would like to bring something, they are asking for: baby wipes, sunscreen, lip balm, prepaid international calling cards, and letters of support."


SOUTHEAST

Staunton, Va.: Valley Rally for America, 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 12, Gypsy Hill Park at the gazebo. "Show support for our troops, our country and our president! Bring American flags and signs of support as well as lawn chairs. It's time for the Silent Majority to speak out by showing public support!"

Lynchburg, Va.: Support Our Troops rally, 2 p.m. Saturday, April 12, in Liberty University's 10,000-seat Vines Center. "Your hearts will be blessed and your spirits will soar as we honor our nation and our troops who are fighting to liberate Iraq."

Ashland, Ky.: Rally for America at 6 p.m. Friday, April 4, at the bandstand in Central Park. Sponsored by radio stations WVHU and WIRO.

Louisville, Ky.: Louisville Support Our Troops Coalition Rally at noon Saturday, April 5, Jefferson County Courthouse steps. "Please bring signs and flags."
Also in Louisville: Motorcycle ride in support of President Bush and our troops, starting at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 6. Meet in parking lot of Southeast Christian Church, 920 Blankenbaker Parkway. Route will be around Jefferson County and take about 1 hour and 45 minutes. Rain or shine. All bikers welcome. "Let's make this a massive statement in support of our troops."


Cleveland, Tenn.: Rally at 5 p.m. Friday, April 4, at the courthouse downtown. Featuring Voices of Lee, a Lee University choir.

Clarksville, Tenn.: Rally for the troops at 11 a.m. until dark Saturday, April 5. Wal-Mart Supercenter. Fort Campbell Blvd.

Bartlett, Tenn.: Rally to Support our Troops, 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 12, in Veterans Monument area of Freeman Park, Bartlett Blvd. From I-40: Take the Sycamore View Road exit and head north. This road will become Bartlett Blvd. at approximately 1 1/2 miles.

Charlotte, N.C.: Rallies for the troops scheduled from 2 to 3 p.m. every Sunday in Freedom Park until the war ends.

Fayetteville, Ga.: Rally at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 4, in the amphitheater next to Fayette County High School. About 18 miles south of Atlanta on State Highway 85. "Come on out and support the President, our troops, and the country."

Keystone Heights, Fla.: Support Our Troops Rally, 5 p.m. Saturday, April 19, Keystone Heights High School Football Stadium, 900 Orchid Ave.

Tallahassee, Fla.: Pro-troops rally at noon Friday, April 11, at the Capitol Courtyard.

Dothan, Ala.: Boys and Girls Clubs of the Wiregrass are hosting a patriotic rally at noon Tuesday, April 8, at their headquarters building at Fortner and Alice streets.

Millbrook, Ala.: Support Our Troops Rally, 1 p.m. Saturday April 19, in Village Green. Millbrook is about 10 miles north of Montgomery. "All vendor proceeds will be donated to the families of local servicemen and women serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom."

Starkville, Miss.: "Troop Fest" at Mississippi State University, 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 4, in the Amphitheatre. "We will remember the 60 students from MSU who have been called to duty."

Northern Mississippi: Rally for America starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 5, Olive Branch City Park. Directions from Memphis: 240 to Non Conah. Get off at the Riverdale Exit and go right. Go all the way down past StateLine Rd. Take a right on Goodman Rd. Take left into Olive Branch City Park; go to the running track. From Southaven: Go east on Goodman Rd. Take a right at the Wal-Mart light, right into Olive Branch City Park.

SOUTH CENTRAL

Bossier City/Shreveport, La.: Rally to support our troops, 2 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at Barksdale Federal Credit Union branch on North Gate Drive right outside the North Gate of Barksdale Air Force Base. Directions: I-20 to the Airline Drive exit in Bossier City. Turn south off ramp (across the railroad tracks). Take a left at the first light (Old Minden Road) and get into the right lane. Take a right at the first light onto North Gate Rd. Barksdale FCU will be on the left right before you hit the North Gate of Barksdale AFB.

Melbourne, Ark.: Support Our Troops Rally, 1 p.m. Sunday, April 6, courthouse square. The town is on Highway 9 between Batesville and Mountain View.

Collinsville, Okla.: Parade and rally to support our troops fighting in foreign lands, Saturday, April 19. Parade down Main Street starts at 10 a.m., then a "rally to end all rallies" at City Park. "We will be collecting items to fill Liberty Boxes." Please bring travel-size: lip balm, razors, baby wipes, toothpaste, toothbrushes, gum, breath mints, granola bars, sunscreen, toilet paper.

Allen, Texas: Support Our Troops Rally at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 12, in parking lot of Allen City Hall. Congressman Sam Johnson of Plano, a former Vietnam POW, will speak. "Bring your American flags and banners and show our troops how much we appreciate their service to our great country!"

Pasadena, Texas: Rally for America, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 5. Pasadena Convention Center, Rodeo Arena, 7902 Fairmont Parkway. Video will be taken and sent to troops in Iraq.

Dallas: Texas United II Rally at 11 a.m. Sunday, April 6, during the Dallas Desperadoes game at Reunion Arena. "Join Talk Radio 570 KLIF's Darrell Ankarlo and Greg Knapp. Bring your best patriotic signs and messages to wave in front of the cameras. Marble Falls, Texas: Freedom Rally at 8 p.m. Sunday, April 6, in Marble Falls High School Auditorium. "We will be taking large group photos to show all the troops that the Hill Country supports them and prays for God's grace to protect them. We will send copies of the photos to our troops."

Round Rock, Texas: Saturday, April 5, Fort Hood soldiers will be honored during the pregame festivities at the Round Rock Express Game. Nolan and Reid Ryan donated 3,000 free tickets to soldiers and their families. A Fort Hood Soldier will throw out the first pitch at the game.

Killeen, Texas: Rally to support the deploying Fort Hood troops from 11:40 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. Monday, April 7, at Central Texas College's LBJ Plaza, the outdoor area between the library and the student center. To allow students to attend, CTC instructors will dismiss all 10:30 a.m. classes 15 minutes early and begin the next class period 15 minutes late.

Georgetown, Texas: Rally to support troops in Iraq, 3 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at the Williamson County Courthouse.

Abilene, Texas: Rally to support the troops, 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6, at Nelson Park.

Lubbock, Texas: Rally for America, noon Friday, April 4, at Texas Tech's Memorial Circle. Sponsored by College Republicans of Tech.

GREAT LAKES STATES

Delaware, Ohio: Support Our Troops Rally, every Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m on the corner of West William and Sandusky Streets, in front of City Hall.

Cincinnati area: Rally to Support Our Troops, noon Saturday, April 5, at Bigg's Hypermarket in Harrison, I-74 and New Haven Road.

Toledo area: Support Our Troops Rally at noon Saturday, April 5, Woodland Park in Perrysburg. A thousand yellow ribbons will be handed out in support of the troops. In case of bad weather the rally will be held at Zoar Lutheran Church, corner of U.S. 20 and St. Rte. 795 in Perrysburg.

Ypsilanti, Mich.: Support the Troops Rally at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 5, Ypsilanti High School. Organized by Ypsilanti Republicans and veterans.

Traverse City, Mich.: Support the Troops rallies are being held every Saturday at 11 a.m. Meet at the parking lot at Grandview Parkway and Union Street, across the street from the Open Space on West Grand Traverse Bay.

Fremont, Neb.: Rally for America, noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 5. Midland Lutheran College, Central Campus Green (Hopkins Arena in case of rain).

Leavenworth, Kan.: Support the Troops rally, 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, April 4, Veterans Administration, 4th Street.

Topeka, Kan.: Rally at noon Saturday, April 5, on the steps of the state Capitol.

Junction City, Kan.: "Heart of America - Support Our Military" rally at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 12, in Heritage Park.

Wichita, Kan.: Motorcycle ride to show support for our armed forces, leaving 10:30 a.m. Saturday from Fortune Cookie parking lot across from Mid-Continent Harley-Davidson. Final stop: Vietnam War memorial in Winfield.

Salina, Kan.: Support Our Troops Rally from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 12, at Jerry Ivey Park.

ROCKY MOUNTAINS

Colorado: Support Our Troops rallies every Saturday. Fort Collins (VFW): noon to 1 p.m., northeast corner of Mulberry and College. Loveland (FreeRepublic): 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at southeast corner of Taft and Eisenhower (U.S. 34). Longmont (FreeRepublic): 2 to 3 p.m. at southeast corner of 6th and Main. Greeley (FreeRepublic): 11 a.m. to noon, corner of U.S. 34 and 35th Avenue.

Albuquerque: Patriot rally for the troops and president, 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at the Truman Gate, Kirtland AFB at Truman just west of San Mateo.

Lake Havasu City, Ariz.: Pro-Troops Rally to show support for the American and British forces, at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 6, on the west side of the London Bridge.

Salt Lake City: Operation Yellow Ribbon, 2 p.m. Saturday, April 12 on the grounds of Utah's state Capitol. Please wear yellow. "The thousands of citizens, veterans and dignitaries who wish to reiterate 'Thank You' and 'We Are Here For You' will be at hand in a manner never yet attempted," the organizers say.

Pocatello/Chubbuck, Idaho: Rally from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at Stuart Park, just off of Hawthorne, in Chubbuck. "Bring a picnic lunch and listen to patriotic speeches and music. We will ring a ship's bell and read the names of all those lost in the war. Bring a flag."

Sandpoint, Idaho: Support the Troops Rally, 2 p.m. Friday, April 4, corner of 1st Street and Cedar, in front of Coldwater Creek. "Bring a flag!"

PACIFIC COAST

Riverside, Calif.: Operation Joint Effort One, Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., across from Nordstrom's on Tyler Street. "Sponsored by the Marine Corps League Det. 696, American Legion Norco Post 328 and Avon Fundraising. Rep. Sharon Bourassa will be offering a $20 donation package including Avon products and much-needed items to fill care packages for our troops."

Redlands, Calif.: 4 p.m. every Friday at the corner of Orange St. and Redlands Blvd., in front of the Rite-Aid.

La Mesa, Calif.: Stand Up for America Rally, 10 a.m. Saturday, April 5. Sponsored by American Legion and City of La Mesa. Location not given.

Los Angeles area: Pro-America rallies, Sundays from 4 to 6 p.m., on the southeast corner of Victory Blvd. and Topanga Canyon Blvd., West Hills/Woodland Hills, San Fernando Valley.

Long Beach, Calif.: Rally from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 6, in Heartwell Park. Carson at Clark, 2.5 miles west of 605 Fwy., exit Carson, head west.

Costa Mesa, Calif.: Rally every Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. at the corner of Bristol and Anton. "Bring your patriotic signs and flags." Initiated by the Orange County Young Republicans.

Hemet, Calif.: Patriotic rallies every Friday starting at 4:30 to 5 p.m., on the corner of Florida and Sanderson as well as 2 blocks away on the corner of Florida and Kirby. "This all started as an effort to counter the anti-war/anti-troop/anti-Bush rallies that were being held there. A lot of Marines and sailors live here, and the residents really support them."

Ventura, Calif.: Support rally at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 5 in Port Hueneme at the Naval "Seabee" base, corner of Channel Islands Blvd. and Ventura Rd.

Santa Barbara, Calif.: 1 p.m. Saturday, April 5, Mackenzie Park, corner of De La Vina and State St. parking lot off Las Positas. "Bring your flags, patriotic colors, signs and banners of support."

Lake Forest, Calif.: Rally from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 5. On the corner of Lake Forest Drive and Rockfield.

Monterey, Calif.: Rally from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Windows on the Bay, across Del Monte Ave. from Lake El Estero. "Please bring your friends and families and your own positive signs."

San Jose, Calif.: Rally to support the troops, every Sunday from noon to 3 p.m., at the corner of Winchester Blvd. and Stevens Creek Blvd. "Show your support with U.S. flags and signs."

Fort Bragg, Calif.: "Support our Troops" rally from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at Main and Oak streets. "Bring your flags, banners, signs, and bullhorns!"

Lynwood, Wash.: Rally every Friday 4 p.m. to dark, weather permitting, at 196th and Alderwood Mall Parkway.
