For what it's worth, I give you Michael Angelo Batio from the 80's band Nitro.

Obviously no real "feeling" like a Satch, SRV, Via, etc. , But pretty damn amazing in it's own right.
About 1:10 into it is when he actually plays a song

Terry Kath
born Jan. 31, 1946 in Chicago : died Jan. 23, 1978

He was a lead guitarist in a league with Jimi Hendrix - this according to no less an authority than Hendrix himself. After hearing the band in 1968 at the Whisky A Go-Go in Los Angeles, Hendrix told Chicago saxophone player Walter Parazaider "Your guitar player is better than me." Hendrix was so shocked and amazed at his guitar abilities that he took him and the band on tour as the opening act on his and Janis Joplin's European tour in 1968. This was also one of the only times that Hendrix was actually floored by another guitarist. Rock critics, unfortunately didn't offer the same for Kath. Pop music critics seemed to rebuke Chicago with regularity during the band's hey days in the 1960s and 1970s.

Anyone who posts in lime green colors really knows nothing about anything.

Damn...Because I have never heard about him means that I don't know music?

My list is based upon the guitarists that have inspired / moved me with their music.
Does that mean that the list is set in stone? Of course not.
Throughout this thread I have been turned on to quite a few guitarists that I have never heard of before. <><>

You just keep up with your holier then thou attitude and keep your mind closed.

Ones favorite type of music is what brings one pleasure from hearing it.
I tend to gravitate torwards the 80's - 90's metal guitarists.
It doesn't mean that I can't or don't appreciate anything else.

For what it's worth, below is the second best cover of "Little Wing" that I have ever heard. (SRV would be my first favorite cover)

This has been a great learning thread for me. Thanks for introducing several badass guitar players to me. Coincidentally I just saw this story on yahoo about a new sensation from down under. check her out.

http://new.music.yahoo.com/blogs/wh...orianthi-santana-wants-to-pass-her-the-baton/

No Fucking Way

That girl has got some serious skills..Even better, she plays with a "feeling / emotion" that in my opinion, can't be taught.
Pretty obvious that Carlos must have been one of her idols.

You still suck at life, pubguy, but I owe you one for introducing me to her :toast:
