Arizona may be overrated because they have the statistical profile of a team with about 4 wins on the season to date. They are covering/winning games in large part due to a (historically) unsustainable turnover differential. Arizona has a -0.6 yards per play differential. For comparison, the Oakland Raiders had a - 0.5 yards per play differential and Jacksonville Jaguars had a -0.7 yards per plays differential. All not good. While their power ranking has increased on the back of their good ATS record, some stats bear out that they can in fact, be viewed as overrated. Covering games doesn't necessarily mean a team isn't overrated. Take for example, Arizona's week 6 game against Washington. They were a 5 point favorite as of the closing consensus line. The Cardinals covered the spread, yes, but only on an interception return with 18 seconds left to win by 10 points instead of 3. (30-20). Almost anyone could tell you that the intercepting player, Rashad Johnson, should have kneeled with the ball to end the game.
