I had Liberty winning the game but used the spread bet as insurance.

As long as I can hit 50% or higher on the money and the majority of spread wagers I'll be happy.

Bowl game I know the spread is less likely to matter and Iike the bet but I think the smart play is to guarantee yourself some profit if they cover and don't win. 7 points is a good amount in a neutral field game

I understand what your saying. I only bet dogs in Bowls. If I win at least 50% of ML wagers I come out ahead more than if I play.....say.....$500 on money line and the spread wins and the money line doesn't with some games or if i just play the spread. My goal is to win more than 50% of money line wagers. It doesn't happen to often that I lose the money line and win the spread bet like with Liberty.

We'll see how it works out at the end of bowl season. I'll keep track of a few betting scenarios this bowl season and see how it finishes to compare. Last season I did quite well. I've played a couple so far this year on spread and money line and won both bets. E. Michigan was one of them but didn't post.

Basically I'll do no worse than break even with the opportunity of cashing a pretty good amount. If my spread bets match someone else's capping its up to them how and what they bet, spread or on the money.
