Wow Nice spelling there for the Gators. Should of expected that form a childish poster. Yes I know all about Bama's D. Wait I remember people talking up SC's D before we hung 60 points on them. We will hang minimum of 40 on your Vaunted D if you are having a good day. I am sure section 312 will be empty by begining of 4th quarter unless you are staying to get autographs from My Gators post game.

USC's schedule is no worse than Florida's when you look at who the Gators set up for a cakewalk before conference play began. And, I should also add that what's good enough for Florida is good enough for USC in an exceptional year when the conference is down.

Personally I don't care and I don't think SOS is as important as you make it out to be. That says nothing about the team you are ranking. It leaves some room for doubt but nothing more. It proves nothing. In USC's case, it's a convenient excuse to rid yourself of the team you fear the most. So you make SOS the biggest factor of them all. That approach is full of holes in so many ways I cant' begin to explain how. SOS does NOT make the team. How much more obvious can anything be?

What does matter is their record and how they rank in statistical categories. Those are the two MOST important factors because they ARE within a team's control to do something about. You talk about "earning" status by beating good teams, but how can you if there are too few good teams to prove yourself with on your schedule? What about earning respect and rank by being the #1 ranked team in categories such as defense? You SEC guys should be the last people to discount a great defense. You've only been preaching it for years... that is until your defenses start to look sucky and USC's defense dominates. You are a bunch of homer hypocrites if you change your mind now. Furthermore, SOS is no more than the luck of the draw... that is unless you are Florida and deliberately set it up so your W/L will be guaranteed to look good after September.

Why don't all you SEC fools just take USC to task and beat them? Quit the trash talk which is meaingless to everyone else who knows what USC will do to whomever you send... when and if you find the guts to make that happen. What a bunch of BS sissies. Talk talk talk talk talk... avoid avoid avoid avoid. What a waste of humanity. Prove it on the field and play them or go fuck yourself.

We might play you. Oh wait, never mind. You won't be at the National Championship game this year.

USC does have a good defense. Never said they didn't. I think Gators would Beat USC by 10 points on a neutral field this year.

You've been drinking your own kool-aid again if you think that. The only place you will ever beat USC is in your dreams. Can't you get that? Your claims are meaningless because you REFUSE to play them and don't say you haven't had the chance to do that over the years and counting. You haven't even left the state of Florida in more than 20 years to play anyone. How can you possibly defend that chickenshit kind of scheduling? Of all the big name BCS schools, and especially the SEC schools, you should be the last ones to criticize SOS.

You know damn well that if you wanted to play USC it would happen. USC takes on all comers. What have you got to show for a quality OOC win EVER? National champions don't do that. No champion does that in any sport. So before you go and stake some kind of claim to greatness, show up and prove it by beating the best opponents in CFB and quit using your overrated conferece as a way of sheltering your reputation.

You'd go down in flames if you took on some quality teams from around the country, USC is one example. Michigan beat you last year when you had the chance. It's easy for anyone to see why you won't go out and do that. You'd be left with nothing to soothe your big fat egos with and you'd lose all your bragging rights. That's the meaning of chickenshit.

Florida is the worst example of a championship team in any sport because they play nobody from around the country when you have a chance to prove that you can win by playing the best. But year after year you don't. And that's just the way you like it. Chickenshits.

I think it's better to just keep your mouth shut and let your team do the talking, rather than build your team and conference up for a possible big fall. In which time this thread will be brought up time and time again to remind you.

Agreed.

Conan - SoCal is far from unbeatable. I guarantee you that SoCal would struggle against UFs defense. As for the schedule - only 5 PAC10 teams are bowl eligible. That's beyond awful.

I agree that USC is not unbeatable, but they would be favored over EVERY single team in the nation on a neutral field. The only team that MIGHT be favored over them is Florida, and that's because they're the huge public team right now that everyone loves. The only teams USC would not be at least a TD favorite against on a neutral field are UF and OU. I think they would be -7 vs texas, and much higher against everyone else.

IMO OU, UF and USC are far above everyone else this year, with the exception of Texas that can play with them, but wouldn't on a consistent basis most likely.

Major, I understand and respect your point of view about USC's "beatableness" but I've yet to see it on a national stage (with the exception of VY and Texas but it took a heroic effort.) Their offense is an enigma this season. They have the guns to put up 1/2 dozen TD's or more vs anyone but they just don't do it. (I have my suspicions why but I'll save it for another discussion.) I hope they make a bowl game somewhere else aside from the Rose Bowl so we can see just how good that defense really is.

It shouldn't be that big a mystery why the Pac-10 is so far down this year. Their OOC schedule unfortunately didn't allow the literally dozens of new players to adjust and get into any kind of groove on a bunch of teams so early in the season. They were raped by the NFL draft big time this year for a relatively small conference. Now almost everyone is rebuilding. 2 new HC's in the same year also had something to do with it. I will say this though... this "downtime" will be short lived because a lot of the new players are potential all american caliber. Cal's roster impresses me the most now that I've had a chance to see them play. UCLA's new braintrust also impresses me. Next year I fear for Oregon because everyone is leaving. Oregon St. is very young and a year wiser than when they played PSU. I hope they get the chance to redeem themselves now that they are a lot more in sync. Next year they will be a force to be reckoned with. I could go on but there will be plenty of time to talk about next year.... like next year.

Well the fact that they "just don't do it" speaks to something that should concern SoCal fans. 17pts vs Zona is pitiful if you ask me.

I do agree that the Pac10 has the ingredients to get better - they just haven't yet. The SEC is down this year as well. Losing 9 QBs has a nasty impact on teams. We have 7 teams bowl eligible, but we normally have 8-9. Auburn and Tennessee sucking so badly have really taken some of the shine off of the conference. But the defense in this league is still for real. Even the bad teams like AU and UTn have very good defenses - they just get overwhelmed by a lack of offense.

I've been concerned about USC's sputtering offense for a few years. I blame one guy on the staff for ALL of it. Steve Sarkisian has his nose up PC's ass and meanwhile he has mismanaged a literal FLEET of 5* recruits and has so little to show. Their OL is class but they play as if they hardly know each other at times and forget how to play as a unit. Their play calling sucks horribly. All of it points to one guy. They just haven't been the same since Norm Chow left. But it's not as if they CAN'T bury whoever they feel like burying. They just don't. But then when they are in the right mood, they execute as well as any unit in the country and they are unstoppable. Put them in a situation where they have someone worth beating and they are an entirely different team. Collectively speaking, it's almost as if they have two brains. Talent is not their problem. Unity is and it is their leadership that is completely at fault.

On the other hand, Nick Holt is proving to be a pretty damn good DC. With all the 5* talent he gets, they SHOULD be as good as they seem to be defensively. The same should hold true for their offense but Steve Sarkisian is expecting one day to be in PC's shoes. He was offered the Raider job before Kiffin was given it. He stuck around because obviously he has other plans. Perhaps the alumni will mess him up one day and he'll be moving on. PC needs to cut him loose but I don't think that will happen.

Facts:
Bama - Overrated. no way they are no. 1; if they get past Fl they will get beat in the title game
USC - Great defense; Mediocre Offense; Pac 10 sux; Spanked in their loss
Florida - extra point away from undefeated; untested for the most part but a good team playing very well when it counts
Okl - Very good team; defense?
TX - Good team; defense?
Tx Tch - Good team; defense?
Utah - yeah right; whatever
Penn St. - can't really comment since i have not seen them play much; weak schedule may have put them where they are.

Playoff would be AWESOME this year.

I really don't understand why Bama fans think they will kill Florida? The Gators aren't a soft team like people think and Bama's defense is good but not great. The Gators have littered the SEC landscape with "top defenses" this year. Big slow LBers are what guys like Jeff Demps and Percy Harvin feast upon. Bama's corners are a little questionable also. Now let's get into depth - Bama doesn't have a lot. UF has a ton. How are you going to cover wave after wave of WR? What about the 8-9 DL we rotate all game long? Depth is a huge reason why UF is as strong as they are right now.

To say they haven't been challenged may be correct, but you have to give them props for winning their 10 wins by more than 3 TDs each.

childish is your favorit word i guess

you have used it in like half of your post. dude you can call me whatever the hell you want, my whole point was there is no way the gaytors just completely run over alabama. alabama is not the the citadel, which i might add auburn was punished for playing that citadeal a few years back and it kept them from playing for all the marbles. so kudos for your stupid athletic department for sticking them on the schedule. furthermore, yes alabama is looking ahead a bit the the sec ch game, we are playing a horrendous au team this year, however the gaytors should not be looking so far ahead. fsu has a decent team and you gotta go to them. i would love nothing more than for tea bag tebow to get rocked by a rhoad scholoar and be out for a few weeks in this game. i give credit where its due and i fully realize the gaytor are a beast. my point was that they will not line up and kill us.
