Maybe the top player in the draft since Andrew Luck and we potentially have a short season.
What would be the fairest way to pick the draft order ?

Random Lottery?

The NHL was on strike for a year. They did a random lottery of all teams. Pitt got the number 1 pick.

The player they took- Sid the Kid

Great question....and one I had not thought about. Surely this was discussed prior to season kick off, no?

It was a weight lottery though. They took some time and thought out a formula based on records or playoff berths in the previous couple of seasons

some teams had 3 balls in play some teams had 2 some teams had 1

I rmember the Pens were one of 4 teams that had 3 balls. I know the Pens still had well less than a 10% chance of winning though.

I'd say smart NFL minds could come up with something similar but much better. A team like the Jets really should have a better than 50% chance of winning.

take this year's record, last 2-3 years record, this years point differentials ect into account
