It looks like a nice day up at the Spa today but it must have rained like hell earlier because at least some of the races are off the turf (maybe all, not sure) and that chops the hell out of the fields and puts horses on a surface they were not carded for. I hate all of that. Let's see how I can do with those additional challenges.

Love the place, ninja. The best horses compete. The best trainers. The best jockeys. And the place itself is fantastic. Beautiful upstate New York setting in an old resort town for the mega wealthy. If you're losing just look up and there will be beautiful women walking by dressed in the most formal gowns and the most informal short shorts and tank tops. Rich and regular like me mix together. Have fun together. The food is great. And it's summer. The weather is great. Horse player's nirvana. All horse players have to find a way to spend a few days at Saratoga at least once in your life. I get there two or three times every meet. And I love it.

Wife and I visit Keeneland every year and your description of Saratoga is pretty much the same for Keeneland. Only real difference is the Keeneland meets are inSpring and Fall. The weather is usually great but we have seen snow and cold weather before at Keeneland in past years. We try to go late in the spring meet and early in fall to avoid possible cold weather. We have visited the Spa once about 5 years ago. Personally I like Keeneland better but both are great racing atmospheres.

Yep, Charlie. I've heard nothing but good things about Keenland. Never been down there. Would love to go some day.
