Lem Banker's Radio Picks

I also posted this in another forum:

I've been playing many of his picks that he gives on the Larry Grossman Radio Show in Vegas (available at www.cardplayer.com on Fridays after the show is aired). The last 3 weeks he has been 11-1 on his NFL picks (4-0, 4-0 and 2-1 last week). For everyone's information, his NFL picks this week were Cleveland over Pitt, Arizona over NYG and Houston over Indy. Assuming his Wyoming pick ends up losing in college football, he was 5-3 in NCAA picks (unless he had a spread that pushed on North Texas State). He doesn't usually give the numbers he bets the games at.

Correction to Above Post

I thought I had seen a final on North Texas State winning by 15. I was wrong -they covered. Also Wyoming got the miracle cover so Lem was 7-1 on his NCAA picks this week. (North Carolina/Wake, Wyoming/UT, Georgia/Auburn - only wrong one, Michigan State/Wisc, Arkansas/Miss, Purdue/Ohio St, North Texas/Idaho and San Jose St/Boise). His college picks haven't been this good all the time (obviously), but you could do a lot worse than following his lead.

correction to mine after your correction

Wyoming covered..... DonBest scores lists the ntexas closing line well within at 15½, who knows where he bet it-- but i just can't see him laying 3 td's + a field goal..... He didn't lay the points with Utah, taking their opponent instead, knowing they'd likely be looking to run up the score for BCS purposes.........

I vote for a 7-1 score....

edit: if you got the score at ESPN, they frequently post final scores wrongly including scoreless 4th quarters-- must be a software glitch......

nice to see two of my picks are against him:

i'll keep NYGiants-- hopefully they'll give Manning a chance if Warner falters...

I'm still riding roethslisberger until he loses a game......

the other thing i forgot to add:



during the show, Lem was fumbling to find 3 teams to give(which by the way is the standard for the show: guests are asked to give 3 picks, meaning-- are all 3 pix equal, does guest only like one/two but goaded into giving 3?)-- he sells picks every weekend: $50 gets you 3 selections... i'm guessing he gave out a different 3-- & maybe not as strong a 3?

btw Manning'll get his chance next weekend-- he's starting.
