Be careful buying laptops off "locals". They more than likely are refurbished and not "brand new" as we are accustomed to in the states. Remember the "Top Ramen" news cast on Tele Tica? If you dont, a US company was importing EXPIRED Ramen Noddles and selling them in Costa Rica. Just like buying cars down here from a "local"... usually a lemon from the states, fixed up, mileage rolled back, and dents and chassis damage concealed. Just a head's up gringos!!!!

Thanks for the replies! Ended up buying one at Office depot down here.Prices are ok for CR standards...And yes I had bad experience with buying one of those"new" ones with a local dude...not to blame him direclty cause laptops can suck...but you don't have any garentee

bought a toshiba ,with the standard stuff 15 inch screen. wireless ready..bought one of those wireless routers with it..small optical mouse to..and paid cash about $800 . I know you can get dells for about 6 -7 hunderd but they take a couple of weeks to get here..and i needed mine today..
Check out the place...was my first visit there..and was realy surprised of the stuff and prices they have..I went by the one past dennys..on the way to heredia:banger:
