I listed this game in my thread with all my plays but I wanted this game to stick out for all to see. My first Top Play of the Year is Buffalo +5.5. If you wait until closer to game time you may even get a better number. Here are my reasons why. Both teams are coming off of bye weeks. Obviously New England has a big edge in coaching, special teams, and offense but what sticks out to me is the intangibles. New England when closely looked at has not been playing at the level that many believe they are so far this year. They were fortunate against Indianapolis and truly were outhustled by Cards in the desert. It has been quite a while that I can say this team didn't play as hard as other team. Buffalo has had this one circled when schedule came out as they knew they may have the opportunity to end the streak before they tie all time record. Bledsoe has not played well so far as offense has been very average. But Bills offense doesn't match up as poorly as you may think vs Patriots. McGahee and Henry should be able to get a fair amount of yards vs Pats defense. They are not as strong against the run without Washington. Bledsoe should have some big openings off play action after establishing the run. Bills defense is a top 5 caliber defense. Their job is a little easier as Deion Branch is likely out for Pats. The key to this game will be turnovers. Pats are one of the best in creating turnovers and Bills must be up to the task of avoiding key mistakes. Pats blew out Bills on last Saturday of season as Bills mailed it in after all of the Reuben Brown distractions. I think the bye week actually helps the Bills more here as they were able to regroup from 2 close losses. This game will be played in the teens to low 20's. I think Bills willl score a little more than the first two in this one and if they can hold Brady and company to field goals (very realistic with injuries to Branch and Watson) they not only can keep it close but have a shot to win outright. Ex Pats Bledsoe and Milloy will once again play key roles as Bills imo get off the schnide and win first game of the season and end the Pats winning streak.
Prediction:
Buffalo 16 (+5.5) New England 15
Best of luck and all thought and opinions are welcomed.
