Coming off of a rough day as record could have easily been 7-3 or even 8-2 instead of 4-6 as took a lot of tough losses. Though its early in 04, I am calling today Bounceback Saturday. There are an enormous number of games which I have a large slate. I will put top play next to those I consider to be my best.
George Washington +16 - They were blown out earlier this week by Longhorns but I think it will serve as a great learning experience starting off the Atlantic 10. St. Joe's has been sluggish of late. (win)
Indiana -6 (Top Play)- Hoosiers are looking for a quality non conference win. Though I don't consider Temple right now to be the win they are looking for, come March you never know with Chaney. Bracey Wright just too much for Owls.
(loss)
Florida -9.5 (Top PLay)- Very important game for Gators. They need a quality win and also need this win to help stave off recruiting of Hamilton at Florida State. Florida offense has been stymied of late but Seminoles like a fast pace that plays into Florida strength. Difference in this game is the inside depth of Gators and Lee all around game. (win)
Illinois Chicago -7 - Major double bounce back game for Flames. Coming off of two horrible losses back to back to Wisc-Milw and Illinois. Flames can't afford to fall to 0-2 in conference. This Detroit team has been flat out bad on the road and now it is carrying over at home. Flames blowout Detroit by at least 15 or more in this one.(loss)
Missouri -7 (Best Play of the Day)- This Tigers team has lost 3 in a row including the last game to Belmont. I guarantee this team has woken up after that terrible performance as they are just too talented for it to continue. Tigers need quality win and some momentum leading into the Big 12 schedule. There is no way this team loses 2 in a row at home. Missouri wins this game by 30 points or more. That's right , not a misprint. The REAL TIGERS show up for this one. (win)
Baylor +12.5 - Boilers are not that good on the road. They play their 2nd road game at a BIG 12 foe in 2 weeks. Baylor at home as many in the BIG 12 will tell you is very tough. Not even Kansas,Missouri,Oklahoma,Oklahoma St, etc are ever favored by this many in Waco. This line is way off.(win)
Pepperdine +3 (and moneyline, Top Play)- This Rams team is horrible away from home. Though this is a neutral court setting. Pepperdine has way too many athletes though Nelson is a nice inside force for Rams. He does seem to disappear in up tempo game which is what Waves will bring. Once again, wrong team favored.
(loss)
Wright St. +3 - This Butler team just simply is not as good as the past few years. They were blown out at St. Louis and Indiana recently on the road. Wright St. is a decent home team who traditionally plays Butler tough. They win straight up in this one.(win)
SMU +11 - Ponies have the talent to play with Cowboys. This will be a hotly contested game that OSU will eventually win but not as much as experts are predicting by. (loss)
Tulsa -1.5 - Tulsa simply has too many athletes for Tech and will be looking to play well after losing to a poor Arkansas team over the past week (loss)
Cal Riverside -1 - I am basing this play on Pacific's poor performances on the road. (loss)
Iowa State +3.5 (Top Play)- Though they lost by 11 at Virginia, Cyclones proved they are better than most people think. Even on the road against a talented San Diego St. team, Cyclones should win this game pretty handily going into Big 12 season. (loss)
Arkansas Little Rock +11 - Miss St. is another major team that does not play well away from home. Little Rock is a tough place to play and will be pumped to get an SEC team to come into their gym. Bulldogs will win but barely. Experience earlier this year playing at Western Kentucky will help them here.(win)
Alabama +4- This Xavier team is overrated. Without West in the middle, players like Chambers and Sato are finding the going tough. Alabama has already played and won in some tough road settings and won't be intimidated here. Tide seem like they are better off without Mo Williams who went to NBA as team is playing harder and more consistent. The better team in Alabama will win here. (loss)
Loyola,Chicago -9 (Best Bet)- Ramblers are coming off some tough road games where they struggle. They finally get to play at home vs an inferior Youngstown State team. This game has blowout written all over it as Loyola gets off to a good start in conference.(loss)
A lot of games but 5 less than last Saturday's card where I went 13-7. I might have a few more closer to game times tomorrow. Best of luck.
