TTinCO, thank you for calling me ignorant but I know a hell of a lot more about this type of case than you do. I have worked in the state attorneys office and have been practicing law for 12 years. This is a consent case, no more, no less.

Answer the question please, what the fuk was the girl doing in his room? Were they having an intellectual conversation?

What I have heard about this case is that she started fooling around with him and at some point in the middle of sex she changed her mind. I don't think that she effectively revoked her consent.

As I already said, I don't like Kobe, I think he is a ball hog and is arrogant. That is not the issue though. I don't defend athletes that commit capital felonies unless the case is bs. This case is bs.

Kobe will walk on this one.

If you went to law school at UM, I wouldn't be talking like you know what you're talking about "Mr. it's the only law school in the States I could get into".

99 % of the so called experts were wrong on the OJ outcome, OJ is a very likable guy while Kobe is not. I think Kobe is going down, despite what any cnn talkinghead attorney claims is going to happen.

Nothing like thinking a man that cuts his wife's head off is "likable".

There's been no discussion of evidence here. The fact that he and the girl started having consenual sex does not bode well for her. At that point, if what we hear about the case is true, you have a he said - she said situation where the only people who know the truth are Kobe and the girl. Frankly, Kobe will come off as a credible guy and the girl (and her history of issues) will be dragged through the mud. I would LOVE to know what the true facts of this case are because based on what I've read, it seems that Kobe may be able to get off (meaning not serve serious jail time) due to a lack of evidence.

If I recall the Tyson case correctly, the girl never admitted that she consented to have sex with Iron Mike. In this case, the reports are that the girl did consent then changed her mind. No means no but when she started actual intercourse then changed her mind, she hurt her chances of getting a conviction against Kobe.

Sorry to disappoint you BUT Kobe's word does NOT equate to fact. Actually, Kobe is a proven liar. He originally told the police that he did NOT have sex with her. His credibility is certainly in doubt here.

Lander-

I'm not disappointed at all. The consensual part of my post is reference to not only Kobe's words but also the information that was allegedly released by sources close to her that reported that INITIALLY they BOTH consented.

Frankly, I think she made a bad decision to go up to his room in the first place and KOBE probably went further than she wanted. If that ends up being true then he deserves time behind bars. Unfortunately for the victims of this type of crime, they are often put on trail and each decision they make is scrutinized.

Swami,
There has been alot of hearsay regarding this incident. Picking the stories you like do not make them fact.

Lander I agree....

I stand behind my post, the error (in addition to a few spelling errors) I made was the use of the word "fact." At some point, I did say "if what we hear about the case is true." So I NEVER wanted anyone to think that I BELIEVE EVERYTHING that has been said.

Fair enough. It's not for anyone of us to judge anyways.

Who do you like tonight?
I think the Marlins will have value throughout the series.

correct me if I am wrong, but isn't there going to be physical evidence presented? The DA peered at the hospital records before deciding to prosecute. He must have seen something credible. Time will tell. My thoughts...Kobe decided unprotected vaginal sex would be too risky of pregnancy so he opted for door number 2. Ouch, that is gonna leave a mark. This mark will be damning physical evidence.
