TT in Col, I don’t believe a victim’s past can be used to discredit them, unless it is relevant to the case. This particular girl is only 19. I don’t see how she could have developed a “sordid past” at this early stage of life. If you have any "relevant" facts about her character, I would love to see them.
Prosecutors love these types of high-profile type cases. Lots of publicity. And the victim is a young “white” female. There is no down side here for the prosecutor. If he decides to prosecute, he’ll be a household name; he’ll be seen “defending the virtues of a young woman;” he’ll likely get a book deal; if he has designs for a political office, this is the kind of publicity he needs. For those reasons, I believe this does go to trial.
