Klis now believes that Moreno's hamstring may have been partially torn -- rather than just strained -- when he injured it on August 1. Moreno was seen running and cutting "very gingerly." Klis speculates that Moreno could even be a slow healer. Thomas is still favoring his troublesome left foot. Neither is going to play tonight or in the preseason finale.

McDaniels plans to "bang one or both of them around" in practice to gauge their progress. In other words, don't expect to see Moreno in action for the final preseason game.

Coach Josh McDaniels seemed less than convinced that Moreno is ready for a full return, saying only, "We'll see how it goes." Moreno told reporters Tuesday afternoon that he's feeling "about 80 percent" recovered. It would be a major upset if he plays in the preseason finale Thursday night. The Broncos will push him to get read for the opener, but we won't have a good read on his status until Wednesday of next week.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>As did Demaryius Thomas (foot). Moreno's return to 11-on-11s is promising, and he'll be a much more confident fantasy start if he works fully all week. Players coming off injuries like Moreno's often come up sore the day after. Check back Thursday afternoon for another upside. This week, Denver faces Jacksonville, which doesn't project to field a tough run defense.

Demaryius Thomas (foot) also practiced in full. Moreno clearly isn't back to 100 percent just yet, but the practice report indicates that the Broncos are counting him to contribute at Jacksonville on Sunday. It's an attractive matchup, but there's a good chance that Moreno will be on a snap count.

This is speculation from the Denver Post, not confirmation from the team. Still, Moreno's latest hamstring pull was being called a two-week injury from the jump so owners should not be surprised. Making matters worse, the Broncos face the elite run defenses of the Ravens and Jets in Weeks 5 and 6. Look for Laurence Maroney to lead Denver in carries once again Sunday.

McDaniels deemed Moreno "questionable" for Sunday. "I think we're just trying to make sure we make a smart decision on when he's ready and when he's not," McDaniels said. Moreno clearly isn't close to 100 percent, so fantasy owners should have alternatives lined up for Week 5.

Moreno indicated that he's feeling good, but it's still too early to guarantee that he'll play on Sunday. He'll likely be limited on Thursday, and Friday's participation will depend on the hamstring's response to the workout. The Jets boast the league's stingiest defense in fantasy points allowed to opposing backs, so Moreno is not a suggested start regardless.

It's just a walkthrough without helmets, so it's tough to get a good read on Moreno's balky hamstring. Coach Josh McDaniels has stated that Moreno will be "fine," though the field conditions at Wembley Stadium may give him some pause on Sunday. Moreno can be plugged into fantasy lineups for now, but check back Sunday morning for an update.
