It was poor timing on Lampley's part, but I think I caught his drift that a team to go 16-0 needs near perfection, to go 1-8 (it was before the Buffalo game) to close out the season all it takes is just a couple of bad breaks, a few injuries and then a snowball effect of trouble. It is much easier to lose a lot of games in a row than to win them IMO, even if you are a decent team in the NFL.
As for the team to beat them, its often the one you least expect. I am sure few thought the Giants would be the team to take down the Vikes this season. Or the Giants to beat the Broncos when they were 13-0 and had won I think it was 18 straight games. People circle a few games on the schedule and say this is the one they might lose and then promptly they lose one you didn't circle. The NFL is such a tough grind, even the gimmes aren't always so easy.
