As a Blackhawk fan, I will be on Detroit big. I was one of the doubters of Osgood too. He will get a lot of help. Detroit will stay out the penalty box, and they block a lot of shots. The Chicago series wasn't close at all. Fleury will have to win this series for Pitt.

So take this with a grain of salt and give me your feedback.( I can take it) The NHL so badly wants the Penguins to win the cup, wouldnt it be great if Sidney Crosby the face of the NHL could be holding the Stanley Cup. Remember last years finals, the referees in the last 2 games tried their damnest to get the Pens to win, there was the non call when one of the wings dmen gets his stick smashed out of his hands with seconds left and there is no call and the Pens almost scored to tie it, and game 5 there were some other calls that blew it for the wings. Now you can say that I am just saying this because I am a Wings fan BUT there is a writer in Vancouver(Tony Gallagher and I dont even like him) who wrote a whole article on it. That may explain the back to back games which will definately hurt the Wings, being older and more injured. So, just watch the games and see if I am lying because the Wings should win this series.

The NHL gets money from NBC after all production costs are met. A long series would net the NHL money.

Ok, I'm gonna try and tackle this one the best I can.

First of all, try and explain to me just exactly how this incredible set of circumstances could ever get off the ground? Who called who and said what to who? Do you think maybe Gary Bettman made a call the the director of officiating and said something to the effect of.....Listen fellas...we REALLy need our sport to grow at a much greater rate then we ALREADY are. We here in the offices feel it would be in all of our best interests if somehow..some way...Pittsburgh were to skate around holding the cup this time around. Sidney Crosby , as you know, is the face of this league. And I can't express enough, what a benefit this would be to us all as a whole. So....off the record...."You know what to do" "You KNOW what to do"!

I mean...the Officials have a union, a legal team representing them, and an executive board that has been elected to handle situations that occur day to day. What in fact what your asking, is for the league to fix the outcome of some games. Something that is so frowned upon, that the NFL and NBA, whenever a suspected game fix is assumed, contact the FBI and other high ranking policing officials to look into these type of situations because if true...it can possibly shut down the games and put everything the entire league worked so hard to establish in jeopardy.

Don't you remember the Tim Donaghy situation in the NBA recently. They dealt with this swiftly and very harsh.

Imagine it starting from the NHL brass instead of a mob figure or a gambler with the right ties.

Word of something like this would spread like wildfire. People can't keep secrets very long. They talk.

My advice would be to not take this sports writer very seriously from here on out. Sports writer get paid to get people reading their work. Fiction or non fiction.

the only challange the wings had was the ducks. You cant expect the lowly bluejackets making their first ever playoff appearance to put up a fight against the wings let alone any other team. The hawks where a good team but they where like the penguins last year. very young and inexperienced. The only challange that the wings really had was against the ducks and it took them til game 7 to finish them off. I dont understand how you people think this will be an easy win for the wings. Even though the wings my have a deeper line up i beleive that the pens will just flat out refuse to lose. malkin and sid are on fire. malkin did shit in the cup final last year and now he is playing the best that he ever has. If the pens can steal one game in detroit out of the first two they will win this series. I really think they are going to win game 1 tomorrow. Im saying pens in 6....
